View Full Version : fly board resettin itself?
When I started the playing today the setting were MROF was set at 20 and it had 17000 shots on the counter, and it showed the serial number. At the end of the day the MROF went to 11, the serial number went 000000 and the cycle went from 17xxxx to 525. Sometime during the day the thing reset it self. Anyone ever had this happen? the marker has an 3.2 board.

thats §§§§ed. even with the reset you can do, the serial number doesnt change
u sure u didnt do anything to it, i.e. a lot of static electricity, water, something like that?
i'd take it to a tech and let him know, might needa be replaced... just for safety.

its a crazy fly on crack..
need to get him some help
I charged it the nite before, played 5 games with it and shot about 2000 balls. I notice that the last couple of games it was shootin a litte slow and I didn't think anything of it. When I got home and was cleaning up I check the trip counter and it said I shot 525 shots and I know I shot almost a case of paint thats when I notice something was wrong.

my fly is resetting as well. i turn it on put it in live and turn off eyes and sometimes not all the times I dry fire a few times and then the board resets and turns eyes on goes to safe and I have to go through the whole thing again, some times mind you. has 3.5 and only about 10000or even less on it.

is something stuck between the grip and the inside reset button.......? I have 3.6 and never experienced anything like that.

^^^^ what he said.
It just didn't reset but zero out the cycle counter. My marker now has 638 shoots on it were it had 17000 on it before it went nuts. the marker shoots fine no problems and has kept the setting I put back like the dwell, tr, etc. Just strange.

Ring. Is this on the Fly I sold you?
I'd recommend contacting Bob @ FMA, since he's the closest MT to you. But I shot the marker prior to sending it out and it shot just fine. Something went screwy with the board's software since then.
Have you tried performing a reset of the board? If so did they do anything?
No the fly you sold me is great no problems and I must say it is the fastest marker I have ever shot and I own some fast markers. The fly I have the problem with has a 3.2 board and I have no idea what cause it to clear it self.

Ring, if I was you I would just open up the grip (if youre experienced enough) and just simple disassemble the board from the connectors and reseat it. If that doesnt work, I recommend contactiing an MT like Sparco said. I hope the 1st method works.
I went in and reset my dwell to 9, tr to 8 and mrof to 20 and it has not change. My cycle counter reads 638. Me and my sons are playing this weekend and I will let everybody know how it does.

While your advice is not bad you would void any potential warranty on the board. Considering his board may need to be swapped, voiding the warranty prior to claiming a defective flaw would be unwise.
Outside of resetting the board via conventional means, I would send it in.
Glad to hear the graphite fly is ripping for you. You can thank Bob @ FMA.

that sucks ring and also where can i pic up a 3.6 board for my fly
It is quite an easy fix if you are familiar with electronics, but it does require you to dismantle the board and some light soldering, and that would void all warranties, so I would suggest you get it in to one of the techs to have fixed.
I've played with the last three weekends and no problem. I will just wait till the next time it does it than I will send it in. thanks everyone for your help and input.
