View Full Version : Barrel length...?

I suppose it does come down to your playing style, but these thoughts I'm throwing out there are based on a few things I understand as fact:
1.) Barrel length after 12" is unnecessary, but it does not hurt accuracy to have more length.
2.) Longer barrel lengths allow a user to "hug" a bunker more, so that it is possible to stay "hidden" while firing.
Now, I've seen folks use 14" most commonly, but what do you feel is best for you?

14-inch barrel shoots better than a 12...thats why I switched to a 14....

10" front man
12"-14" mid
16" back man I would not go bigger then 16"
I personally use 14 bc i think it suits me well and it shoots very flat.

I'm used to a 14" for the most part but like at least a 16" for airball.

I remember reading in APG an article that said if your barrel was not longer than 20" of stainless steel it was not going to be as accurate. Personally I prefer a barrel that's 14 inches.

16" for every position. i play front and have NO problem with a 16. infact going from a 14 to 16 seems like it has definately improved my game.

I use a 12" and a 14" barrel. I end up using the 12" barrel 90% of the time.
