Hey guys.

I have a pretty wicked drop on my 5peed and would like to have your opinion on drops. I like the way it feels but it's heavier and more bulky than it would be if I didn't have the drop. I think an obvious disadvantage to a drop is something to break when your gun hits the ground hard after a jump.

Should I get rid of the drop?

where do u play, and its all about what is the most comfortable, try it with no drop one day and one day with a drop. then diecide, in general front players want a drop and back players dont.

i prefer no drop, because a drop makes the gun taller. id go with a rail but like shaq said, its all personal preference

im usin a AA appocolypse on a rail at full length back (as far back as possible) and i can play any spot on the field, and play it well.
just try em both and do whatever is most comfortable. the gun should feel like it belong there, an extention of the arm. you shouldnt have to think about how to hold it in a game. make the gun fit you don't try to fit the gun.

if you want amazing ballabce here is what u should try. get large drop and put it on the frame "backwards" and then screw a bottle. my brothers impulse would ballance evenly with just one finger infront of the trigger, my 03 speed did that too. and it is such a tight fit.

when you say backwards do you mean the tank is backwards, the drop is backwards, or both the tank and drop are backwards?

the drop goes back towards you and the tank is under the body of the gun. i can have a pic tomorrow if u need it.

That is retarded. There is no way to shoulder your gun that way. Don't get a drop, it makes u too tall, and "hugging the bunker" with a drop just dont work.

First off what the heck are you jumping? Now, look at the side of the drop breaking that you never saw, it's better to break your drop than to break your grip frame. Just about every field stocks drops or you could go without a drop of you broke it. If you broke the grip frame you'd be hard pressed to find someone local that had one not to mention the cost difference.

Like everyone has said it all a matter of personal preference for you. Which one feels the most comfortable for you? Which one can ou shoot faster? Which one are you more accurate for your type of shooting? Which one will give you a smaller overall profile? Personally watching the sport evolve from rifle like lengths to short I don't know what to compare them to type lengths it is nice to see a few newer players go for longer lengths of no drops.

I've played with a drop forward and an unimount. I find that for me the unimount is much more comfortable.

Personaly after i got rid of my drop i'll never go back to shooting a gun with one, but its all preference. depends on how big you are too. I'm about 6'2" so a little longer gun is more comfortable for me to hold. Plus with the weight more spread out I find its easier to shoot accurately than with the weight more to the front. But again thats just preference.

I had a drop on previous guns, then I went over to a uni-mount because of how much comfortable it was than the drop.
I'm glad to say I won't go back. hah .

Jumping, sliding, running into trees...that sort of thing. Yeah, you have point about breaking a grip frame but I think I'll lose the drop. My biggest problem is that there are no really good pro shops around here that stock a lot of options. Everything I buy has to be online. I can't just try it out then buy it.

Thanks for all your help guys!
