The angel wasn't designed to have low enough cycling pressure not to chop. It is possible however, but the snapring ram mechanism usually mean the hammer will have a lot of momentum behind it to strike the valve. Since the bolt is tied to this hammer, if a ball is in the way usually this is squeegee time.

This is why COPS was put into the ir3 and not low cycle pressure internals.
