Curiosity killed the cat, well not this time, yet... I have been wondering what the operating pressure of my angel was for a few weeks and instead of getting off my butt and buying a 0-300 pressure gauge I slapped my lpr pressure gauge onto the right side of my speed.

Ever so slowly I turned on my air watching my presure gauge all the way. The gauge went up to just a hair over 160 and stopped. So here's the million dollar question. Does anyone think the gauge has an internal stop in it or some sort of over pressure valve that closes in the event of over pressure or is the hair over 160 an accurate reading? The exterior, at least the face of the gauge below the glass has a fixed stop point for the lower end of the gauge but not one on the upper end.

Gauges are really only considered "accurate" at around their mid point. I wouldn't use the WDP tool kit gauge for any reading even near 160psi.

Yeah yeah, I definately know I should not have done it but it did kinda work and it still tells what my lpr is set at. Yes, I checked the lpr before and after and it gave the same reading both times to make sure I had not tanked the gauge.

Don't tell anyone I did the same thing even though I knew better  . I finally got off my butt and just bought a 0-300psi gauge.

I'm guessing you wouldn't blow of the 0-160 gauge unless you went WAY over the 160psi. I am pretty sure that is an internal stop in the gauge to stop it at both 0 and 160.

I did the same thing and mine stopped just over 160 also...

Well you guys suck. Please next time lie to me and help me stay in fantasy land a little longer.

No, the 161 was accurate. I played around with the dwell a little and also got a better shooting paint. Pressure from shooting yesterday was a nice 150psi.
