View Full Version : Infinity barrel not so great?
I had a break in my breach and of course had paint all on the inside of my barrel. The paint was pink, so I would expect there to be pink on my squeegy and battleswab after cleaning my barrel. However, a lot of blue also got onto them. Blue is the color of my barrel. Maybe the anno/paint/whatever on the inside of the barrel is rubbing off?
If that happens, seems to me like the barrel would slowly become less round and too big of a bore and less accurate in turn. Or maybe the difference is so slight that it doesn't matter. But either way, it's odd that this would happen with such a high-end marker.

i've never noticed that on mine, mnainly cause i have a red swab, im runnin a freak so it doesnt really bother me, but im sitll concerned and would like to see whatever is happinin to these barrel.
it wouldnt affect roundness if it was wearing out evnely, would just get a little bigger.
ya, i just hope that it is wearing out evenly

I dont think the paint is making your barrel wear. There may be something else inside there.

is it possible that a stray paintball made its way into your hopper, or did youtake one down the barell? laugh if u want to but that happened about 2 monthes ago to by bro. he was shootin marbs all day and at the end of the day he tried to bunker some kid that was usin a tippy. after that round there was a lot of orange paint in the breeach.

i just remembered. i think the angel greece has a bluish collor to it, is it possible that some of it could have gotten from the ram into the valve then into the barell?
unfortunately, none of those could have happened and this is why:
my barrel was clean when i started, and i was only shooting by myself (practicing snap shooting). when i was finished practicing i emptied out my hopper really fast and chopped. i know that all the paint was the same. so a stray paintball definitely didnt go in the barrel.
i havent greased my gun yet. unless you meant oil? if you meant oil, i oiled it about 1200 shots before this happened.

hmmmm i wouldn't worry about it....over analzation. get a barrel kit and use that if ya don't like it. all i've seen from infinity 05 barrels has been fine.

Yeah I highly doubt the annodizing is wearing off just from normal use. Maybe take a look down the barrel and see if you see and big scratches or anyting.

What color is your marker? Blue I am guessing? There's this thing called friction that happens when the bolt is moving over the blue anodized surface in your breech You do this enough and little by little the anodizing will start to disappear. Chop a ball and swab the barrel, which will have little bits of blue from the breech, and there's the blue on your swab.

Outside is beadblasted. Since anodizing is thin enough to show the metal underneath, it comes out as a "dust" finish. If you compair a "dust" finish to a piece of metal that is beadblasted you will see that they look the same. "Polished" is just that, the metal is simply polished before anodizing.
And since you anodize by dipping the metal in an acid wash then dye, yeah everything WOULD be anodized ;)

You forgot acid bath with electrodes hooked to it.
