What is the best way cut down on the amount of balls being chopped? I know about keeping the paint warm, and not letting it get brittle, etc, and aligning the ram. Are these the only possible things to do on the 05 speed, without changing dwell to make the damn thing stop chopping?

For chops and chops alone you need a faster loader or stronger detents. Eyes on helps too as well as a lower pressure in your lpr.

Also you might want to do a little research about the subject before you make a new thread. Here's a thread about 5 links down on the first page: http://www.angel-owners.com/showthread.php?t=33826

Running a simple search in this forum using the word chopping I came up with 64 hits. Might do you some good to check a few of those out.

Look if you dont already have a volumizer they are a must for people who complain about chopping. It brings your operating pressure so low its sweet. Also it alows you to lower your lpr for even less chopping. Normally you dont have to change your dwell because a volumizer jumps your velocity up alot. If your running on a high minireg input without a volumizer you dont want your lpr realy low because it will sometimes cause alot of chopping and also the gun will be pretty inconsistent. You dig

you just described me and my gun.

very inconsistent performance. lots of chops.

asked the guy at the paintball store and he told me speed 05's didn't need a volumizer.

go figure.

I readjusted my ram to have a good snap when closing the breach and lowered the LPR to 40psi with a Medium volumizer. Raised my dwell to 11. ZERO chops and no apparent shoot down. I think I may gotten lucky with this setup. Either that or my budies gauge is off by 10psi.
