Alright, this question might be a little newb, but here goes:
Before I played this weekend, I wanted to knock my LPR down a shim just to see if I could notice any difference. I was at 68ish before I did anything, and after removing 1 shim, I should have been around 62, but I didn't check it. I did not increase my dwell, I'm at 9ms right now. I was experiencing what I would call first shot drop-off. As long as I didn't shut my marker off, it would fire right at 255fps where I have it set. As soon as I turned the marker off and back on, over the chrono I'd get 170 fps on the first shot and 255 +/-4 every shot after.
Can anyone explain this to me? Should I have turned up my dwell? To what setting? Is a 1ms increase enough or should I run it higher? Is there a maintenance issue I've overlooked, like a dirty solenoid? Everything is lubed and oiled properly, so far as I know how.
I'm not looking to lower my lpr to 40 or anything. I just want to get a little quieter, a little less kick, and a little less ball breakage. I've got the breakage under control, I'd just like to eliminate it completely. Any help is greatly appreciated. :fanboy:
