Is it a Fly or LCD?

My son has an LCD. Owner's manual says it's an LCD. My son says it's a Fly.

How can you tell? From what I've read here, a Fly conversion adds eyes (his doesn't have eyes) and changes the board. If his gun doesn't have the eyes, can I safely conclude it's a stock LCD? The reason it's important is that I am fairly confident that he needs a new board and I want to make sure I get the correct one.

Your son could very well have both.

You are correct that a "Fly" has eyes, however when the original LCD's came out there was a version called the fly. The LCD Fly was milled a little more and had a low rise on it. I was supposed to be "lighter and tighter" than the stock LCD. For all practical purposes you have a LCD and you will need to get an LCD board for it.
