Clam Shells

was wondering of an existing possability of putting the 05 clam shell on my speed, along with the trigger, couse okay, from what im understanding, the 05 trigger breaks the light beam, not the trigger hitting a leaf that breaks the light beam...correct right??? plus i think it be unique to see a speed with the 05 speed grip frame...doable? would i just have to call up WDP to get it from them??? and if its doable, howcome i havnt seen it done yet?

not doable, the speed 05 uses the vernier wheels of the a4 gen and cannot be added to teh speed gen as they are part of the body...

it might be possible as long as the frame screws are the same which i assume they are because i've seen the 05 frame put on a fly. however, to do this it would take some modifications. first i think you'd have to mill down the back toe-part of the flashtank (where the external screw is) because the 05 frame is just a hair too long to fit. you'd also have to mod the trigger itself so that you could set the forward and back travel (for example, drill out the vernier pins, then tap those holes for set screws like the 03 trigger). Then, you'd have to devise a way to have the trigger return as there is no leaf spring. put a magnet in/on the body of your marker that would repel the one already in the trigger and push it back into position.

it would be difficult and i wouldn't do it unless you had machining experience, but i think that technically it is possible.
