it wont be exactly white... itll have to be a silverish, white anno is nearly impossible, except for dust white, which is actually a silverish whiteish

Multiple shots is either a badly adjusted trigger or the more likely broken microswitch

you cant anno WHITE - you can powder coat white, but you cant anno white - sorry cant tell you where to get that done though

like vantage said, bad trigger job or broken switch, bring it in to your store and have them take a looksy

Why is it they can't anno white?

i couldnt tell you
anno is dipping aluminum in acid, and then running a high voltage of electricity thru it, i am not sure what part of the process the dye is added - for some reason they are unable to annodize white - you could probly find an article online about it though

There is a long description of it on DOC's website, and he talks about the process and why they can't anno white...it is really long and boring...lol But yeah try adjusting your trigger and checking your micro switch. If you get a ramping chip (which you shouldn't unless you have absolutley ZERO skill) you probably won't be able to use the morlock. Hope that helps. I will try and find the exact link on Doc's site for you guys.

When you anodize a peice of metal you form a small oxidization (like rust) layer on the outside of the metal. This layer is very thing and has small pores or pockets in it. After you acid bath the metal to form the oxidization layer you dip in in very concentrated dye for a couple min. Because the layer is so thin you have to make the dye very strong. Even so you will be able to see through the layer (shiny if the below metal is polished and "dust" if its bead blasted). Because aluminum is grey and the anodized layer is so thin if you used white dye the grey would show through and the piece would look grey.

So technically you CAN anodize white, it just doesn't look white because you see the grey metal underneath :)

ok, thanks on the anno, ill get a silver white, where do i get this done, i need a reliable and cheaper place, well not so much as cheap.

back to the real problem...
when its on semi and i hold the trigger down it shoud shoot once and only once, it sometimes does that. sometimes i hold it down and it'll shoot 2 or 3 shots. i dont understand why it does that... theres no bounce because im holding the trigger down, no ramping because im shooting once and im holding the trigger down. i also dont see why a bad mirco switch would do that cuase if it shorts out temporarly would'nt it just not shoot instead of shooting multiple times on one trigger pull.

im also finding that i shoot low balls, everyonce in lets say 8-15 shots il shoot a couple of balls that shoot 30-50 feet, my tank was low on air so that my be the problem or am i shooting so fast it doesn't get enough recharge from the tank and its choking my gun from air causeing lowballs,

thanks again

The LP tank would have an effect on how fast your balls ar shooting, but it shouldn't have an effect on the multiple shots or shorting out....

ok, i now found out i was borrowing a lp tank, it didn't say and he uses a impulse so i figured it was hp.
so now my distance is np.

i think the multiple shots and shorting out are because of a shorted microswitch.
if the micro switch isnt the case can you guys think of anything else?

The microswicth could be broken...but not completley...basicly it could be cracked or something thus causing it to short out, but work some of the times...but as long as it is working now it isn't a problem. As for that picture of the anno it was done by www.maxanodizing.com

how much extra with the dust white cost? do you know

Crazy4Paintball1
01-06-2005, 01:44 PM
Well a single color anno is like $150 or something check the price page. IF you want 2 colors you will probably be charged the fade price... The finish is going to cost more, unless you get something custom. He does the Matte finish (which is more like the dust color) or the polished finish.

Multiple shots per pull is classic broken microswitch! Not to rag on your local tech but the gun very much will still shoot with a broken microswitch. The switch makes the contact which sends voltage to the 14way causing the gun to fire.

If its not making full contact inside or arcing then you get multiple shots.

Thats why local tech's usually aren't MT's...but like I said as long as it is working now don't worry about it.
