I was shooting my Cobra LCD which I just got today and I noticed that it was double feeding quite often. Sometimes this would cause a barrel break and sometimes not. I'm not sure why it's doing this, I'm just using a revvy so it's not the hopper forcing the ball past the detent. I also noticed that when this happened the gun made a noise similar to a mag or cocker being short stroked. Thanks for any help.

How old is the ball detent? Is there any noticeable wear on it?
Is the ball detent screwed in too far?

I'm assuming the detent is as old as the gun, 2k1 with 41k cycles. I haven't taken it out to look at it yet, and unfortunately I'm not at home and can't right now. If it was too far in it would cause it to double feed??

I highly recommend getting a Cobra indestruct-detent. You can stretch out the spring inside and eliminate double feeding. Also, make sure your ram is properly aligned. Do you get a small click when you close the breech?

I'll have to check all this when I get back to my gun tomorrow. I appreciate the suggestions. How hard is the ram to adjust, I assume there's a how-to somewhere?

check the manual for ram adjustment Angel Manuals (http://www.wdp.tv/manuals)
You really should replace the ball detent, that's most likely what's causing the problem. And about having the ball detent screwed in too far it could have caused that shortstroking sound but probably not the double feeding, but that doesn't sound at all like the problem, sorry I said it earlier. It sounds like you need to adjust your Ram's snap-ring.

Ok, tomorrow I'm going to check the ram adjustment, adjust the snap ring, and check the detent. I'll report back then. Thanks for the help. I don't have a tool kit, but from what I've read I just need to circlip pliers?

Yep just circlip pliers. Goodluck, but don't worry it's not a hard adjustment. Just follow the manual and you'll get it working.
