Does This Look Like Orange To You?!

Ok, here's my story.

So I wanted my Speed ano'ed for my Birthday, orange to pink dust fade with "kitty" laser engraved on both sides. I decided to go through FBM. I sent them a freakin' sample of what I wanted for colors. I even told them to make them a little bit brighter, and very girly. WELL... I got my gun back about an hour ago and this is what was returned to me..

Freakin' great! I've got a copper to pink dust gun instead!

Also, the pink on the gun and frame is different than the pink on everything else. The pink on the gun and frame is what I wanted, but the pink on everything else is like, purple-ish pink.

THIS IS AWFUL!

Look at the color sample I sent them.. NOTHING like what was done..

What was done wasn't "brighter", it wasn't even just the color sample.

I'm sending this back and making them redo it. :pissed:

I have to play with this tomorrow for a 12 hour new-years eve lock-in at the indoor.. I'M EMBARASSED TO BE SEEN WITH THIS FUGLY THING!

Send it back! But, you won't be able to use it in NPPL or is it PSP. Orange or pink colored anything is not allowed.

Not to rain on the parade but anno isn't the easiest thing to match to a specific color especially when doing fades. I understand that it's not the exact color that you wanted but I think that you will find other places wont be able to do much better.

The annodizing process is fairly complicated and it all depends on the grade of the metal the finish and how long its dipped etc etc. With so many variables I would say it came out pretty good!

The Pink is nice, except the barrel tips are more purple than pink.

Oh well, I'm sure they'll fix it, they say so on their site. It's just that I'll need to put it together and then take it apart again... Good Practice, Eh? Hope I get all those grub screws back in the right place on the body.... :dunno:

I like the copper color...not a fan of pink though...yeah I would talk to them, and I am sure they will work something out with you.

i like the pink as well

but i think you had a bad combo to start out w/ IMHO. orange is one of those colors that anno places seem to sumtimes have a hard time with sumtimes, i dont think i would have gone with those colors together to begin with but thats just me

as for the descripencys in the colors that has always been a problem, diffrent batches = diffrent colors. there is no way to avoid it. it was one of the problems with the blue speeds when they first came out... the colors on diffrent parts of the gun didnt match

i also would have gotten it gloss instead of dust

Led Display Moves Inside My Grip On Angel Joy Fly. Any Help On This? Should You Be Able To Lift The Display Up From The Board And Should It Be Able To Move Around. Not Too Much But 2mm Or Less While Grip Is Secured

rub some WD-40 over it...it should make it a little more orange.

but I agree, as it stands that definately isn't orange...FBM screwed up the barrels i sent them as well, there are still hanging marks on the backs (not little ones like there should be, great big freakin huge ones that run halfway down the back)

that and they didnt send me back the volumizer i sent as a color sample, or the barrel case i sent them all in!

thats the color my gun is (when the "copper") but its called doo doo brown. mines pretty close to that.

I think it looks good.

It turned out different colors (Between Vol and Frame, ect...) because of the grain of the material. Depending which way the grain is, it absorbes either more or less anno than another peice.

I think it looks pretty cool!

OT here, but where did you get the laser engraving done and what was the price?

The transition area is pretty rough, it looks almost clear. Certainly not the best work I've seen on a paintball marker. But then again an orange to pink fade isn't exactly a natural progression in the color spectrum.

It's not terrible. Still the best Orange I've ever seen on a gun was the first batch of burnt orange MT Force 4s.

El Pirata- I belive she had FBM do the laser engraving. www.fbmfactory.com you should be able to find prices there on the engraving.

Sparco- I agree with you, the best Orange I have seen as well is the burnt orange.
