hey,
i got very fustrated yesterday when i cut open a case of new paint, and a dozen per bag were busted. Only cheap practice paint but all in all free paint, why toss it? So, I searched the internet and found a way to clean them. For all of yall that this ever happens to, heres the thread. (step by step?)
Go to the local hardware store (home depot, lowes, even wal mart or target) and buy a court maybe or more, of acitone.
find a metal strainer or an old fishing net, metal bucket, and a big 5 gallon plastic bucket, also an old tomato or canned food goods can will be nice to have.
now, put about 1/2 inch-1 inch of Acitone in the metal bucket.
fill the net or strainer with paint, its best not to put more in the bucket then the net/ strainer can hold.
now, there should be acitone in the bucket, poor the paint into the bucket with the acitone. splash the paint and acitone about like moving the bucket back and forth spinning it in a clock wise or counter clock wise rotation :swing:
once you've cleaned that round of paint, set the strainer over the tomato can and poor the acitone and paint into it, the strainer will catch the paint and the acitone will go to the tomato can. this helps so you can reuse the acitone and not spend a fortune on it. with the paint in the strainer, dump it into the 5 gallon bucket. and your set.
Repeat the cleaning steps as needed. this WORKS i have used it many of times. Best of luck...because broken paint sucks, and no paint sucks even more.
