Difference between 03 and 04 speeds

This maybe a stupid question... but how can you tell the difference between an 03 speed and a 04 speed. I also noticed the their are 2 difference color dust blue's. Does that relate to the year or no?

i think another thread says this but check the solenoid, 3v=04 6v=03
