I am putting together some charity work to help out our Seniors in the DFW area. This is mainly for those Seniors living in Richardson. I have contacted and met with the two main organizers of the Network of Community Ministries in Richardson to discuss what we, as a paintball community, could do to offer our help with the never ending need for Seniors in the area.
I discussed helping with repairing code violations at homes in Richardson. This includes simple work that we could perform to help out our older community, such as triming bushes, mowing lawns, cleaning landscaping, sanding and painting the exterior of homes, fixing damages fences, etc. These are simple repairs for you and I, but for a Senior these sometimes are too difficult or costly for them to perform.
This would greatly help out our community and give a better view of the participants of our sport.
I want to organize a day or a weekend that we can dedicate to helping this organization and the Seniors in need.
I would love to get a large amount of volunteers that would give up one weekend of play to help out.
Please respond to either this post or direct to me.
Also, I have approached Starbucks Coffee about this service and they may be able to offer some assistance to the Network or supply coffee to wake us up.
Here is a little information about the Network of Ministries in Richardson (Their Vision Statement):
The NETWORK of Community Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3)-community service agency supported by a coalition of businesses, religious, civic and social organizations and individuals. Its purpose is to respond to human need by giving short-term assistance with the goal of helping individuals achieve long-term independence. This is accomplished by offering charitable assistance to persons in need primarily in the Richardson Independent School District, by providing a sense of self-respect and responsibility to them and by functioning to alert and educate the larger community on issues that affect those in need. Network provides food, medical and financial assistance, temporary shelter, clothing and much more. It also provides the emotional support and guidance needed to instill hope for a better tomorrow.
Members of the Network include churches, synagogues, religious groups, civic and social organizations.
Sometimes it is good to give your time to someone else in need.
THANKS FOR READING AND HOPEFULLY SOME OF YOU WILL HELP OUT!
