Hi, me and a friend are going to start a little tiny company around my state making custom triggers, sears, and more. Anyways, my mom owns a glass shop so I will be making the triggers out of lexan. Anyone have any suggestions on products we should make, how we should run this place, or prices? Thanks in advance!

good luck making sears....they have to be made out of hardened steel if you want them to last long, and are a real PITA to do.

lexan triggers aren't a very good idea either, they work good for testing a certain design, but simply can't hold up over a period of time.

I dont know what you have available to you, so i can't give any suggestions as to where to go...just look at what the market wants, or even what individual people want, and go from there. research and torture-test everything you make, compare it with other things and if it turns out better then go right ahead and market it.

Well...Lexan is bullet-resistance. We have tested lexan in many situtations and this is a very durable and of course, lightweight design. Link below.

hm...if there that thick i would say they would work, but something along the lines of a really thin blade trigger wouldnt (i.e. a cobra trigger). Another thing is that a lot of people look at lexan as worthless, so i'm not entirely sure if you'll be able to sell them very well. Perhaps looking at white delrin sheets would help, that way it can still be dyed, and still has good durability. It may not be AS cheap, but it is still down low enough to keep a high profit margin.

Well the point of the lexan was I could get it for free. What I will do is try to make one in the next week and if for some reason they just don't work, I will look into delron. Also, the ACP? Slasher trigger is made of Lexan I think...

if it works for you then that's good...i'm just saying that in my experiences lexan has had very little use as a moving part, no matter what it is...i've had some very bad problems with it cracking under moderate stress, especially in the cold.

and the ACP slasher is made out of aluminum

Well when it first came out, it was made of lexan. :)

Edit-Okay, I just asked the tech at the glass shop and he said that it was a very, very strong material to be so lightweight and was very durable. I asked him about the moving thing and he said he'll look into it.
