Today is December 7th.

I'm sure everyone knows why today is special. Today marks the attacks on Pearl Harbor drawing the US into WWII. Today is a day to remember and honor the lives of those Men and Women who were the victims of these actions.

I wish I had some of my pictures from years ago of the Arizona Memorial to post, but alas that was before digital cameras.

Today may not hold the same symbolism in America as Veterans Day or Memorial Day but to those who were involved in Pearl Harbor it means just as much.

Remember folks, thank those who serve, they provide you with the freedoms you enjoy everyday. :patriot:

I think today should be a holiday like Veterans Day and memorial day. When I was in Hawaii 3 years ago, my family and I went to Pearl Harbor and I think it is something everyone should do at least once. All the history, the graves, everything. It just does something to you, ecspecially when you take the boat ride out to the Arizona and you can still see the oil splots coming from the ship and you know that sailors are still in there. Its a day that we all should never forget.

Very nice Emmit, at least a few people realize that men and women in the service actually die for poeple they dont even know so that we all can be free to do as we please, like play paintball.

A day that will never be forgotten. A special thanks goes out to all the former, present, and future members of our Armed Forces for making this a great country.

My great Uncle was in Pearl for the attack, my grandmother didn't know what had happened to him until a week after when we was able to call home.

Cudos to you Emmitt. Thank GOD for those hard chargers!!!!

One of the greatest quotes from the "Greatest Generation"........If we were to go a generation without these warriors, we would be both truly damned and doomed."

The "warriors" that they talk about are ALL of our fighting forces, past and present!!!!

Today is Dec 7th.
63 years ago on this date, Pearl Harbor was bombed, by the Japanese, I think we should all take a minute or two to reflect on their sacrafice, for freedom. And remember those who are now doing the same in Iraq. God bless our troops, and THANK YOU for serving our country. :patriot:

I couldn't say anything better, then God Bless our fighting Men and women. My Grandfather fought in WWII, in Europe against the nazi's. He saw some of humanity's worst, as are those fighting now in the middle East. Lets hope it NEVER happens again!

Thanks for the props and appreciation, to bad not everyone feels that way.
I was in Japan for a week about 3 years ago on my way to D.G. I visited the memorial in Hiroshima by way of a Bullet Train (those things are cool). One of the displays there says that it was an unprovoked attack on them (Japan). Nice, huh?

in my eyes there is never a lack of respect for military members. My father is retired Navy, I did my time in the USN, and my sister even did some time in the USAF, needless to say, there's a lot of respect for military members in my family. We all support our troops everyday no matter where they are, and we all hope and pray that they all come home to their families each day. For those that can't we are sorry.

To my fellow submariners on Eternal Patrol:patriot: You will forever be remembered.
