We have several 05 speeds and they all came with a bolt that is just like the 04 bolts with the soft nose. However, the last one we got has a funny looking white bolt that looks nothing like the others. Anyone have any experience with the white bolt??

We produce no white colored bolts.
Any bolt that is white has not been produced by WDP.
All the best,
Frazer,
There is the answer
I have 0 clue but thats direct from the man at WDP

That is not a cobra - that is a Shocktech bolt.

Yeah it looks like a shocktech bolt...Did you get a brand new 05 or was it used?? Because if it was brand new why is there a shocktech bolt in it?

Well Guys; thanks for all the input. Its just another great benefit of being around the angel crowd. Now, for all your information it turns out that it is a Shocktech and it did not come from the factory. I do the tech work for our Team (all angels, mostly 05s now) and it seems one of my front guys thought he needed to try the gun out before he brought it to the shop. He obviously wanted to see how the shocktech would work and just kinda didnt say anything to me.
Lastly, I just fired the thing up and the shocktech works pretty good, but contrary to advertising, the FPS did not change much. I will experiment, but for now, the factory one has been a solid performer for us. Thanks Again

I am thinking on ordering the cobra one
they claim 15 to 20 fps gain which means u can turn down your pressure a bit :)

manufacturers say a lot of things...like a vboard halo can feed 35 a second.

Yep; your right. I checked out the site before I answered back on the string to you guys. Thats kinda what they say. But, I went right to the shop and fired it up and it didnt work quite that way, at least for me right now under current conditions. I still want to test it out some more under various conditions before I say anything good or bad. I will tell you this, I ran two full hoppers a few hours ago in a controlled shop condition (not field) and as long as I am responsible for the financial situation of the team, I will not let my guys use it in a tourney just yet.

First off, Gutshot, do you buy on ebay a lot, I believe you beat me out for a lot of angels if you do. Now onto the real reason I replied. The cobra bolt does increase the fps, but not as much as they indicate. Possibly 8fps - 12 fps on a stock angel 05. maybe adjusting dwell settings would change that as well as volumizers. Now, if you add the cobra valve along with the bolt, then you have some major increase in fps. More like an increase of 30-40fps. Yes the cobra bolt does work, as long as it is the version 2.0 and if you include the valve. By the time you have all this swapped, it equals the same performance as the newton kit just for a lot less. It also lowers the kick of the angel considerably.

Yes, we do buy a lot on ebay, in fact, we are in the process of selling some of our 04 speeds there now since we have moved entirely to the 05s, and by the way, nice talking to you. Thanks a ton for the above info. I have a team player who insists that I try out the Cobra bolt and valve. He has some past experience and is a believer, and like I said, I do not. Since I now have a shocktech bolt, I was going to mess with it and the other settings to see what I can get out of it. But, I am looking at both the cobra setup and the newton for a longer term solution on the pressures and kick, just as you mentioned. I will post my result. Thanks again

I agree about the thread. I will be getting the cobra valve and bolt setup and tested sometime over the next few weeks on one of the 05s. We have a great shop setup, so I can put out some real accurate comparison data. Coming your way soon. Thanks,

neo: I think he is talking about the version 2.0 bolt that cobra makes. Its their newer version. Supposed to be pretty hot stuff.

I've got the cobra v2.0 bolt and valve in mine. The cobra is a touch heavier than the soft face, but there has to be better flow properties there because the valve made no difference in FPS, the bolt, almost 15 fps. The cobra valve just looks better IMO. It's all one piece and I like that, plus I have the stock valve assembly as a backup.

I verified my results over the chronograph today. 20 balls, each bolt. Soft face average was 287, cobra v2.0 bolt was 301. With a 14 fps increase I'm happy. that's almost 5 percent. The cobra seems a little more consistent too. I was +/- 2 with is, as opposed to +/- 4 with the soft face.
