Well I finally went and bought a new barrel for the angel. Stiffi 14" .689 bore, or so I thought. When the barrel arrived it was a .687 and 16". Seems the company decided to make changes midstream because of limited quantity. Now I am stuck with this barrel and it will be a while before I can get it replaced. Seeing as I have a tourney this weekend I need some suggestions on paint. I have always been using Hellfire, Inferno, and for rec maybe some heat or blaze, however, after trying to blow either the hellfire or inferno through the barrel, I dang near hyperventilated. Now I am sitting on two cases of paint I can't use and if I do use it I will probably wear out my squeege all weekend. Now my question. Is .687 a common paint size or should I go back to my infinity and shoot the hellfire this weekend until the shipper replaces the barrel. If any of you out there shoot .687 paint, let me know your results as well as what kinds you use. I know most of the paint that I have seen locally is all .689-.691 in size so I will have a tough time shooting anything with my stiffi around here. (and no, brass eagle is not a suggestion). Thanks for any advice.

Well it just seems that they filled your order with the wrong barrell, thats all. I would not shoot and waste any of your paint. Just sit back and be patient. I mean you could use your infiniti barrel, but its like you said, You will wear out your battle swab. And I know you dont want to wear out your battle swab! I just ordered the BLACK MAMBA STIFFI SWITCH KIT. I am getting an unbelievable amount of breaks myself. So I am really looking forward to getting it!

They do supply paint. We use inferno SFX that is marked factory team on the balls. I just still have two cases left over I paid for from the last tourney two weeks ago. They are gold with green writing. The hellfires are the same. They can't be too small of a bore because the inifniti barrel had some difficulty shooting it. I got a break every now and then at the tip of the infiniti. The draxxus rep indicated to us that they range from .688-.691 for all draxxus paint, if I am wrong that should be medium bore. .685-.687 is small bore. I used to use marballizers and those were all small bore the same as all stars. The marballizers would practically roll right out of the infiniti barrel but I cannot justify marbs because I got too many bounces with them. I finally heard from the shipper and he indicated he would see if they have any medium bore .689 or .691 barrel on order.

I don't know, the infiniti barrel is progressive, so it should be a lot (comparatively) wider at the tip than at the breach. The only paint I had trouble with was some Midevil I got for cheap, I think it was old. Those were all breach breaks too (reloader was overfeeding). Just out of curiousity, are you using a volumizer?
I also ordered a black mamba switch kit for mine. I shoot a lot of different paint, so I like to have the options. I've been shooting draxxus (blaze and field blaze) out of my 689 evil back with no trouble.

I am using a volumizer, I have the large 3sum on both the exhaust and the lpr. Before I get flamed, I know I only need it on the one side, it just looks better having both. I mean come on, is a woman sexier with two hooters or one :boink: I have the lpr set around 63 and I am using alow pressure crossfire tank. The barrel had to be where the breaks were coming from because I never once got a breach break, it isn't chopping and the ram is set. The only time I had a break was near the end of the barrel. I used a micrometer on the end of the barrel and running vertically the barrel tip is .691 and horizontally it was .689 so it is actually oblong in shape at the tip. The barrel has never been dropped or bent, but accuracy has always been a problem with the infiniti. It always seemed to shoot to the right and I could never get more than two shots in the same 5 inches from even 30 feet out. I can use the draxxus in the infiniti, I just have to be careful. I am also using an egg with Z-board so I am not having any balls pushed past the detents as some are with the reloader B or Halos causing a double ball or a chop. I am just worried about using any draxxus paint with this .687 stiffi. The rest of the tourney players use evil pipes or ultralites on dm4 or angel speed 05's with little of no problems with the draxxus, however, they all have .688 backs for the ultralite or .691 they are using with the evil. These are my teammates by the way. Even the guy with an autococker has to use a .691 Dye boomstick to get the draxxus paint out cleanly. I am in the south in tennessee and right now most of our games are in the cold 30-40 degrees with a lot of humidity so I know the balls will swell a bit, but we all keep the balls in dry storage areas and we rotate them every day so I know we shouldn't have any problems. I hope I have just been having problems with the infiniti so far and if the shipper can get me a .689 stiffi that should cover all brands of paint I will ever shoot.
