Ok here goes. I'm walking into my local air-shop and a new Item is on dislplay. The high performance angel valve from PMI's new Evil line. So I buy one have it installed, and what do you know! all hell breaks loose! The lpr pressure jumped to 120 psi (from 85 psi) and when I try to lower it by removing the shims back down to 85 psi the balls go ten friggin feet!! It was like trading in a Ferrari for a Datsun. (in terms of the performance of the valves) Before the "Evil" valve I ran my Dark lcd at 315 psi! Now I have to run it at over 450 psi, just to shoot 270 fps. What the F$%& should I do? Oh yeah and by the way the airsmith lost the old valve.

well the problem is the lpr pressure is set way high and when I try to get it down to where it is supposed to be it doesn't shoot fast enough. And the extra lpr pressure makes me blow up more balls in the barrel

okay wait so the Evil isn't performing the way it should. Did the tech who did the work tune it correctly? Also you said the tech "lost" the old valve? Guess what....if I'm you I'm telling this tech to buy a new one NOW! I always ask for my old parts back in a case like this, because you might not be happy with it, and want to go back, or you might have to use them as an emergency repair. Said tech should be replacing the stock one real fast or finding this "lost" one, and it had better work since it worked when it came out of the gun I'm assuming.

Emmit hit it on the head. You should always keep your old/stock parts for emergencies and/or replacement to go back to a setup that reliably works.
You know, there really isn't much you can do to make an Angel better...

sorry but EVERY shop I've ever used, I've always gotten my old parts back. Doesn't matter if it was in Hawaii, MS, FL, or TX.

I've never had a tech keep anything from me or my guns (except cash, heh) when I have work done on any of my equipment. Hell, I've even get my worn, broken o-rings back a few times.

The way I look at it, the didn't pay me for those parts, so unless I got one hell of a deal on labor (or the new part), I get it all back.

It all seems a little fishy to me.

to a point it kinda does......member registers and makes 2 posts, in the first post he trashes the Evil product as well as whoever worked on his marker....however he never mentions who worked on his marker so we can't really say anything about said tech. Second post he's still saying that his marker's not working correctly....

Now what do we get out of this...either the user has a legitimate beef, and his marker is not performing properly which means 1 of 2 things either 1) the Evil product doesn't perform like it should, or 2) the tech didn't install it correctly, and tune it properly after installing it. As for the not getting your parts back....well sometimes shops do "lose" things, if it's not replaced immediatly, said shop pretty much starts to "lose" my business and I will tell everyone why I no longer go there.

So moral of the story here is make sure anything aftermarket you have put on your markers is done correctly, and by a reputeable tech. Also ensuring that you get all your spare parts back everytime.

Why hasn't anyone suggested that he just caugh up $20 and buy a brand new stock valve? It worked for him before....... Angelparts.com has them for $19.95 :)

Rrreeeaaaallllyyyy?
Being that most everyone knows that the LPR should be at 85-90 psi on an LCD then they would know it's approximately 6 bar. 1 bar=14.503774 psi therefore you're hitting it right on the head with a psi reading of roughly 87. People at AOG are purty smart...:nerd:
As for the volumizers...I think you mean to say that's the reading you should get from the gauge in the Angel tool kit when putting it on the LPR side to check. On the battery side there is no pressure readout.
If you're new to Angels, welcome to AOG. Take a seat and hang on!

because he should've gotten the stock valve back from his local shop when they replaced it, and if his local shop "lost" the original stock valve, then his local shop should replace it. Which we have already discussed. Yes he can go out on his own and get the new one, or he can make his local shop purchase it for him. However we still don't know that the marker was tuned correctly after putting the Evil parts in it. It may be that his marker isn't tuned correctly right now. His local shop should still give him a stock valve to replace the one they "lost" but that's not the issue of the marker not performing now.

I would really like to know what shop this is? No matter what happens to his gun, the fact is there is still a shop out there somewhere with some questionable practices. :puzzled:

The fact that they are pushing evil only says so much, but since they didnt make right(at least) with losing the valve is crappy in itself.

You're right on the fact that it would be nice to know who it was, or where they are etc. However the orginal poster has not returned to the forums since he made his 2 posts. Essentially what I'm seeing this thread as is a knock on Evil's line of products, and without anymore real proof I don't that this thread is accomplishing anything, therefore it will be removed until such time as the original poster can come back, and provide some more proof to support his claims. Additionally it should be noted that using non WDP approved parts in your markers will void the warranty and some of if not all the WDP techs affiliated with this site will not work on your marker if it has these non WDP parts installed in it.

Alright guys I'm back! The reason why I didn't post earlier was because I do actually play paintball and not sit on the comp all day. Not to say that you guys don't but this last weekend I was too busy Winning the first event in the Severe Survivor Series ( paintballnw.com for more info) The shop that I took my dark to was Kitsap Sports in Silverdale WA. The Airsmith is wdp certified, but from what I am hearing he rips into his angels and he does not time or test them after installing new parts. This information was relayed to me after the damage was done. I was shot back from Mike at warped sportz and he gave me all the info that I needed (thanks mike) On what I need to do to get the gun working properly. I bought the dark under the assumtion that it was THE kick ass gun to have, that does not need any upgrades. I kind of forgot that after adding a bunch of Dye parts and warped sportz accessories. I'm not trashing PMI's new evil line I just had a Bad experience. In PMI's defense their Evil bolt is the best that I have used It combines consistency with a quieter operation than most other bolts. Anyone heard of Dan Bonebrake? well I replaced the DYE bolt with his bolt and now I have the Evil bolt. I'm not sure what I should do regarding this situation so any advice would be helpful. :puzzled:

The fact that the tech didnt offer to compensate you in anyway in itself is offending to me. Most of these cats are under the assumption they have you buy the balls(like a car dealership mechanic) and they no long have to earn their money like everyone else.

I mean, even if it was some stickers or naked chick barrel condom...something to show that he at least acknowledges he made a mistake and is sorry...even if he's really not sorry it's the gesture that counts.

I understand in the way some places can get busy and hectic, but good customer relations is number one, right after location, location, location. Oh yeah and lots of Bon Bon posters..gotta love that girl. :drools:

You don't need to trash PMI's anything...I will do that for you, blindly.

It is just a small matter of a lost valve, but that is exactly why it should be easy for the pro shop to show faith, but they didnt. Find a new shop at all cost's and if your hellbent on having a aftermarket valve, pimp the evil $hit on Ebay and get a rat or a tornado.
