View Full Version : MEM 4 board... how to get replaced with MEM5?

I have a MEM4 optical and it is driving me insane. I cannot get a pull nearly as nice as any MEM3 or earlier board. The way the trigger contacts the ribbon makes this impossible- instead of pushing the ribbon, it mostly scrapes against it, causing unwanted friction.

I have reason to believe that the newer MEM5 optical trigger boards have this problem correted. If I wanted to swap out the board + cash for a MEM5, who could do this for me, and how much would it cost?

Hmmm. Is it possible to upgrade the software via IR? Also, how is board replacement handled between mem1-3 boards now? I'm new to the Angel community so I'm not sure how the proceedure works just yet.

Mem 1-3 boards are replaced with Mem 3 boards, at least that's how they were done at AC.

What I meant was, do they get replaced for free? Or is there a swap charge? And do they actually have to be damaged or malfunctioning to warrant a swap?

I had mine replaced on my Dark by Warpedsportz for 30 bucks. Don't know what they would charge for a C&C.

The physical structure of the MEM4 and MEM5 board is the same, so you will still have the same firing characteristics with either board.
