K guys, after playin a tourney on saturday, i did an inside-out cleanin job for it. I did all the normal stuf, oil in the ram, blah blah blah...but THEN.....*gasp* the problem happens

Ok, after i get the ram set back into position, my dwell at 7, and my LPR at 55, i went outside for a few test shots.

When i pulled the trigger and waited for the eyes to disable, the gun made a shot that sounded like it was outta air. That made sense, i was only at 500, so i went and filled on the scuba tank. I came back, turned the air on, lo and behold it still isnt opening the valve. Its just the hammer gettin pushed forward...i checked my pressure- 250. The LPR was at 55, that wasnt too low. Weird...

So i have a novel idea (not really) and open the breach and watch how close the hammer gets to touching the valve stem. Lo and behold, when i pulled the trigger with the breach open, the valve opens.

WTF? The valve doesnt open when the bolt is in it, but it DOES when the bolt ISNT in it.

I made some ram adjustments, the only logical thing a simple guy like me can think of, and i set the ram stroke starting point as far foward as it can go and still get a "click" from closing the breach. EVEN AFTER DOING THAT, it STILL wouldnt open the valve...argh!

What the frick is wrong with my gun? This has left my area of expertise...i need help!

thx in advance..

Try turning up your dwell. Start at 9, and see what happens. Adding another shim to the LPR probably wouldn't hurt either.

Does the bolt move back and forth in the breech *with it open?*

Is the breech closing all the way?

Something is preventing the bolt from moving.

Is the valve stem that is in there now the one that was in there before?

ya the valve stem is old, but even if it was getting hit it should still let SOME air out.

Raoul, the bolt IS moving. The bolt is doin fine. Its either the LPR pressure, or the ram stroke, cuz those are really the only things that could effect it like that.

Im turnin up my dwell....hold it
