Anyone else with some common sence.....?????
I have heard misting the paint and then leavin the bags of paint open...
alright brittle paint is brittle paint..once it's brittle it's done for..i would not recommend misting the paint because then the water would cause it to swell and then thats no good altogeather...if you want a good brand of paint to buy all i can say is before you buy paint try to find the paint brand where the bags have been vaccum sealed, that always seems to obtain their freshness.
(F.Y.I. if your curious before buying the paint if they are in a twist tied bag ask to sample the paint by taking one ball and comparing it to another ball by going outside and simply drop them on the ground and see if they bounce or break.)

Brittle paint hates my angel. And vice-versa.

turn your dwell up a little..i run mine at 12 and use just about the most brittle paint you can find

I've been using medium grade stuff like RPS Premium, or Midevil, etc. No problems. The really high end stuff blends in my Fly for some reason. I suppose I could turn up the dwell...

wont setting the dwell that high mess up the efficiency...as in less air efficient?
my angel is set at 10 dwell, and i cant shoot brittle paint for crap.

same thing here. been using dwell at 9 or 8 and messes us paint. when I set it back to dwell 12 and lowered LPR to about 55, been fine since then...

wont that severly screw up your efficiency though? highering dwell in combination with lowering lpr?
someone tell me straight up...if i higher my dwell to 11 or 12, will my efficiency suffer greatly? if so, how many shots?

Ken said to lightly mist the paint with water and then leave the bags open for a few hours and it should help out.

Few hours?? Paint usually swells like 30 minutes after you open the bag.

30mins did nothing...... I let it sit for 4 hours. Also some background info for everyone, I'm a store and field owner.

Well, I'm located along the Pacific Coast...we have lots of moisture.

yea turning your dwell up lowers efficienct but think about it how much more air are you gonna actually use in 4 miliseconds..negligible

Newton valve. In San Diego we were shooting inferno that broke when dropped from our knees.... Yeah no matter what we did it broke in our guns. After the event, one of players had the newton valve installed and shot a case of that same inferno without a single break.

All that says to me is that settings make the difference.
the actual newton valve doesnt go easier on paint...its the settings it allows the angel to run at...
so if i were to set my dwell/lpr/input exactly like yours, it should be basically the same on paint...but yours will run it more efficiently.
all im saying is that its not the angel(far as internals and stuff) its the settings you run your gun at that determine how it will shoot paint.

And as far as I know you can't run it at those settings without the newton valve.....

Here's my problem with chopping :scratchhe . Saturday I was reffing @my local field which also sponsors my team. In between games A teamate of mine and myself played some one on one. It was about 55 degrees and my settings were about 70 psi in the lpr, dwell @ 8 and my reloader @ 2. I was shooting the same paint I always shoot and I had nothing but soup. I raised my dwell up to 12 and still soup. Sunday was about 70 and I dropped my lpr to about 58 Psi and raised my dwell to 12 and still soup. Tonight I stretched my detent springs, lossened the tension on my reloader B, changed my Pipe barrel to an ultra light and a freak and shoot winter fill which is a little bit thicker shell and still soup. What do you think is up anyone. The paint is Kick'N metallics and we shoot it all the time in tourneys.

i shot 5 hoppers today in my backyard...
not one chop, and it was around 40 degrees today.
its all about settings, i also have a reloader b, which have been infamous for sucking on angels...atleast around here.
lpr - 55
dwell - 12
input - shooting 285fps
ken doesnt lie.
edit: oh forgot to mention, before i changed the dwell(was set at 10) i would break a few balls every hopper(with this paint[ie. brittle as heck])

Brittle paint is brittle for a reason, the more brittle the better because obviously brittle paint does not bounce, the point i'm getting at is adjust the gun and use the same paint because i'm sure its good stuff thats jsut taking a bit too much abuse from the bolt, also another idea is a soft face bolt...
