Hey all-

I am having some crappy luck with my IR3. It just got back from the shop and I am having problems again.

The problem is that I cant get better than 230 fps. I assume that the LPR is set correctly because it literally just got back from the tech.

I am using AIR and the min-reg. AIR is at 600 and the min-reg as high as I could get it. I put the dwell from 14-20 and the velocity did not change.

I talked with Eric and he recommend that I put the AIR up to 700 and take the min-reg down all the way and then slowly go up.

I also chopped with COPS on- SEN-9. I did the ball drop test and it passed. It happened 2 times last time I played. Any clue to what’s up.

Any other suggestions?

I had the same problems dude... No matter how high you turned up my gun it wouldnt effect the velocity at all... I was sooo mad! Im not even sure whats causing it. But next time i go i hope it wont be shooting that low again... Maybe it could be ball to barrel match? Or somthing... Cuz man it sucks to shoot an IR3 at only 230 FPS.... its like having and expensive talon!

I think your SENS setting could be a bit high and if it's to high it could probably sense a ball even if it's just the vibrations of the marker cycling. I think SENS-setting 6-7 is pretty well used but that can vary between markers.

You should turn the SENS-setting down one step at a time and when it doen't sense the ball any more you go up until it senses it again.

I don;t know, if anyone's touched your reg. and took it apart. If it has been recently cleaned, you might want to double check the spring stack. Sometimes, the spring washers get put back improperly (facing the wrong direction). If the spring stack doesn't match the diagram in the owners manual, you could be going nuts, looking elsewhere for the problem.

You might want to check the direction of the washers and number of washers, if it's been cleaned. It's easy to have one or two washers, flip accidently and to cause a low velocity problem.

Sounds like a problem I was having recently...I'll bet that if you up your LPR pressure to 95-105 your velocity will return and it will shoot fine. Some iR3's seem to require a higher LPR pressure than others for some reason, There's a thread here somewhere about it...

I'm having the same problem with my iR3, is the consensus that bumping up the lpr will fix the prob?

The problem is not really the LPR, if you have that set at about 95 you should be fine.
What you are getting is pre-mature wear on the face of the cup seal. The valve body is digging into the face of the exhaust guide. This causes a groove to form making it not possible to open all the way when it is struck by the hammer.

so how do you fix that?

this was happening to me too.... the problem is not your gun, the problem is your mini reg. mine did the same damn thing, with both my brand guns, my fly2, and my c&c blue ir3. what i did..... for my fly, i single regged it off of my conquest tank, problem solved..... what i did with my ir3, i bought a gen-x3 reg (awsome reg so far, very VERY consistant after the break in stage) and ran 700psi into it, and about 400 into the gun from the reg (reg has a gauge on it) problem solved..... both guns had the same problem, it was the reg. i personally think the mini reg sucks. of all the angels ive had, the only mini reg that was worth keeping was a black one off of my black 2k lcd back back in the day. changing the mini reg has also fixed most of my "ball drop off" problems too. i hope this helps you all fix your guns, cause it helped all mine. let me know how it goes guys.

gladiator reg is really nice, however, just keep it really clean so the white thinger on the inside of the reg does not become contaminated. you can tell if its contaminated if its not white any more.
