recently i was having all kinds of problems with consistency and whatnot on my fly. i sent her away to ken to get fixed and he ended up replacing my LPR and fixed that problem. a new problem seemed to arise. my minireg adjustment is EXTREMELY touchy. i dont even turn it a quarter of a turn and the pressure goes WAAYY up. this in turn makes me have to basically play at 260-265 or else i shoot hot. the gun also seems to be creeping up. i tried rebuilding it and that did nothing. i dunno what could be causing this if my LPR is brand new and i rebuilt the reg with all new seals.

What's your LPR at? I noticed my mini-reg got a lot more touchy when I up'd my LPR to 60psi from 45psi

its at 55. when i say touchy, like i mean touchy. its like i move the allen wrench the width of a hair and it jumps.

What's your dwell? How old is your tank, and when was the last time it was checked?

Have you hooked up a gauge to determine the output pressure of the mini-reg? Perhaps there's a problem with a seal on the piston or a problem with the air system.

Check the spring stack in your mini-reg.

yes i have hooked up a gauge. the pressure is normal. its around 185-190. i just tried another LP tank that is almost brand new, and it still does the same crap. i dont see how it can be the seal on the piston, when i rebuilt every single part in that reg. i just put a reg from another fly on my gun and it adjusted all normal. so this means its my reg? i really dont see how my reg doesnt work when i have rebuilt it completely.

So, you've checked the output pressure through an independent gauge and everything is good, but you're still having problems with the output velocity adjustment. Sounds like you should take it apart again and make sure everything is copacetic.

ok the problem here is not that my pressure isnt correct. it is that my minireg adjusts the pressure VERY oddly. i turn the screw like a hair's length and it jumps wayyyyy past 200 psi. it also seems to creep sometimes,

Too much lube, perhaps? Take it apart, wipe it down, apply just a little grease, wipe it around with your fingers, and see what happens. Good luck

nope tried that also. im really starting to doubt angels right now :( its not like i can even get a new minireg as nobody has them.

Do you have a rebuild/maintenance kit for the mini-reg? Try replacing all the internals and see what happens

tried it.
