Hey guys, I know for sure I'm going to get an Angel and I was almost positive I wanted to get the '05 speed. I've been reading the forums on the speed and have noticed a software bug or trigger problem many people are having. I hate to have my confidence in the gun drop, but it has. So now I'm looking into the Fly, which I realize is very similar to the '05 speed. I would just like to know which you think is a better buy and why (pros and cons) :dunno:

...thanks

if you have the money for a fly get it over a speed 05 anyday. the speed is built from the fly, but has less options. The fly has different milling, a lcd with many more options than a speed 05 including intellifeed halo. the speed 05 is a cheaper gun than the fly you get what you pay for pretty much.

i agree completely with deamon..the one thing that will stop me from buying the new speed is the led, ive pretty much lived with the led on my life and i want the lcd..

I don't know. You're probably going to get biased answers from most of the Angel Owners here. People who have the Fly will say fly and 05 owners will say the 05 Speed. I've owned both guns, the Fly for a rather extended period of time and the Speed for about a month now. I'd say performance wise they are pretty comparable. ROF would be almost identical to me. Accuracy, feel, weight, efficiency, etc will be about the same between both guns too.....they are based on the same platform. The biggest draw to me for the 05 would be the new trigger and reg design. That improves the feel of the gun to me tremindiously (sp?).

I agree with the "get what you pay for argument" only somewhat. I've seen a few people on here use that arguement before. Yes for the increase in price you are getting the snazzy LCD screen with the cool features. Personally I don't find that necessary but a lot of people do. You are also getting the 3sum volumizer pack included which offsets some of the costs. I say go over the features of both guns and decide for yourself. Ultimately you're going to have to be content with what YOU chose. Not what somebody on the Internet tells you.....

well he asked for opinions so he needed guidance and his decision will factor in what others will say

As already mentioned, it comes down to what features you want. I have a red Fly and absolutly love it, but I admit, if I didn't have the money and/or I didn't want the Fly features the 05 is certainly the next gun down the line, for me anyway. I think the 05 body is dead sexy personally, although I like the MT trigger on my Fly better than any trigger out there. I am not sure if MT triggers work on 05s though.

Hey guys, thanks for the posts so far. As far as differed options go I like the LCD but I have a few questions regarding other options. As far as the intelli feed does, does that just make it so the Angel talks to the Halo so it knows its speed and when it is going to feed? Have you guys had any major problems not related to user error, such as the "software bug" on the '05? And are there any other neat electrical or mechanical options on the Fly not on the '05?

Thanks

the intellifeed (riotfeed) makes it so that the fly tells the hopper when to spin, it operates off one 9 volt, making it spin a lot faster and it spins every trigger pull, giving you a consistently fast halo that will keep up with the fly. no software bugs that im aware off, and option wise the fly has the intellifeed output and it has more debounce settings and i think more dwell time options too, on top of a timer etc...

Having a timer built into the gun is very nice, saved me from missing the flag hang on many occasions.
