Alright like the title says im going to change over ym a4 fly from battery to 9v and im wondering if anyone has any useful input before i try this out. (I've noticed it's a bit cramped inside the frame, so im kinda wondering what to do about that.)

OR

does anyone know where i can buy a 05 speed frame?

Uhhh...I dont think itll work, first off were are you gunna stick it?...Second off your going to get the wrong voltage going in on the board if you just stick a 9v on the other end of a cord. After all of that...why would you wana do it?

the reason i would want to do it is because charging it is uber lame..i rather like the new 05 speed idea...im thinking that the boards are exactly the same just no lcd and if they are then that means that i just get the correct battery harness and everything should be golden.

Sure it will work. All you need is a place to put a battery & some rister type thinkies to drop the voltage down to the specified level. I am thinking use black tape to hold the battey to the body & go gheto style.

won if youcan help me out any more like explianing that in more depth that would be great..and would i need to take a dremel down inside my frame to make space for the battery?

Just go ahead and fasten your battery on with a nail gun. I think the black tape might leave a residue on your nice anno. BTW open up the grip frame and look for sufficent space for a 9 volt. and drop it to 4.8V then you will be all set. And I if you really want 9volt life then buy a SPEED...

dude, plain and simple it isnt possible. besides the 9v running at more than double the set voltage, and besides barely enough space for a watch battery, you'd have to mod all kinds of connections.

if you really care, sell your fly and buy an 05 speed. fly retail is still great enough to afford an 05 easy, and the 05 isnt really diffrent internally or electronically (besides visuals)

Forget the frame. The room isn't there. If you took this project on you will wind up with a gun as ugly as an Emag with the big battery hanging off of it. Once you find the location of the battery you will then have to adjust the voltage to the correct output. Considering resale value would be trashed just sell the gun & buy a Speed 05 if you must have a 9V set up.

rechargable is uber AWESOME! you'll drain any other regular battery in minutes on the fly board, not to mention the whole voltage variation. i think you're foolish to want a 9v. the only way to do your 9v idea is to put in a speed board and that's it. fly>speed
