i know the eyes prevent chops... and they work. but whats better than an electronic solution? a mechanical one.

combining eyes and the JAM bolt would truly give you the most supreme anti-chop solution... and type of bolt really doesnt matter to me. i get unlimited fills at most .. or all of the fields i play in, so it's all good about the small gain or loss in effiency.

so i have this JAM bolt from my old IR3, and i havt used it much in my fly, but the other day i decided to give it a try. i had used it before with the eyes off when i was having eye problems... and i had absolutly no problems with it.

however, when i recently used it with my eyes on, i found every few shots it would give a weird pissing noise. kind of like the valve stuck open.. but it wasnt vary loud... so it was barely open. i also found the bolt was stuck forward... eithor that or the ram didnt cycle backwards. i know because the breech wouldnt open when i tired to open it. i am 99.999999999 % sure it is the bolt, because i was firing earier in the day with the stock softface bolt and having zero problems.(bolt stick problems anyways)

anyoen else had JAM botl issues in a fly? has anyone else USED a jam bolt?

I heard jam bolts reduce your rate of fire. The spring in them starts messing up the way the bolt should move the faster you shoot. So at low rates of fire like with the ir3 they are fine but with the high rates of fire with the fly they cause problems. I am not talking about bolt stick i am talking about how the gun performs.

yeah i think they just cant handle the intense cycle speed. with my eyes off a while back (when i first got the gun) it was working fine, but i was only hitting low 20's for a peak rof.

did you remember to adjust the ram when you put the jam bolt in?

Why is the jam bolt better than the eyes? I have never chopped with my eyes on.

it's not better than eyes... it's just another layer of protection against chopping. although i have yet to chop with my retroed a4 and the a4 bolt.

heh.

dirty paint... clrushed or cracked ball, any one of those can get just enough paint... or dirt on the eye for it to mis read

if any of you have owned a jam bolt... you can fire on the same paintball 50 times (not a joke) and it will barely dimple .. depending on the paint.

but yeah, mostly for the extra layer of protection.

and frank, what did u mean by "only hitting" ?

funny, i hit 22 with my jam bolt, and 22 with my softface bolt. also, both sound the same in demo mode( so the jam bolt isnt lagging any as far as i can tell)

my dwell is at a super low 7ms, and with the jam bolt i didn't see any drop off.

they work the same to me, then again, i havent bothered turning my eyes off, never have needed to.
