It's not a patented name. Just make you up some MT business cards. You might have some issues getting customers, especially from this web site from people that know better.

or you can become a sidekick to one of the greatest MT's in the WORLD.
JIM FLOREK at Impact Paintball.
I am not saying im gonna become a tech but i am learning.
He's the genious who fixes and mod's ur guns when u send them to the great Impact Paintball in Jersey. He's the only one who work's on them.

yea, if you live near a paintball store start to wirk there and become a basic tech for the guns that come in there, and build your way up, or if you know alot and live around one of the MT's store go and talk to them and see if you can become a "sidekick" like SolarStorm said

Attend one of the classes. Check for signups, and there are usually announcements made here.

yea, i remember one of the MT's saying there will be one in California after SD.
To be come an MT, takes about 2 years.
There is a list of basic requirements, and a list of re-occuring requirements that must be met. All of which can be aquired in about 2 years.

i have $10 that says i know what your mailbox is full of!
but that is interseting, i'm sure that the requirements are fairly difficult for most people to accomplish, and impossible if you dont have the right resources or connections.

Last I recall you have to travel to all the events on your own dime for a year or two and of course, be certified in everything in the WDP line. Russ, is my memory serving me well?

in that case, you need to find somebody who is willing to show you the ins and outs of the gun, what to do and what not to do....then it's up to you to familiarize yourself with the gun even further and learn on your own.

The Stores around here (Wisconsin) won't touch an Angel now, not after the lawsuit thing. (They won't werk on SP guns either) And I don't think there's even an authorized Angel dealer in Wisconsin.
Does someone interested in becoming an authorized Angel tech need to be associated with a store?

I dont think you have to be associated with a store....but I believe most people are as thats how you get business. I am trying to get certified as a tech, and I plan on going to IAO or other tourney during the summer or something just to take a class. I have been working on angels for the past year and a half at my local pro shop, so I know most of the stuff at least on led's and lcd's, the newer stuff I can fix some of the problems not everything. Yeah it sucks when no one in your area will work on angels, so you are forced to ship out your gun for a few weeks, pay shipping fees, and then fees for whatever needs to be fixed...Raoul maybe you should become a tech..lol then you dont have to worry about no one being able to fix your gun.

from what i could gather from a few tech's i talked with, you have to either own a storefront or have them "sponsor" your trip. You also need to own the appropriate marker for the class taken (they let you purchase them there). I'm not entirely sure, but i believe that there is also a 2 person/store limit that can take each class. Believe me i bugged the hell out of them about tech certification ;)
but i doubt that you can be called "certified" by WDP for just taking a general class, sadly. It's good for familiarization, but not many companies will certify you without attending a class soley sponsored by them.
however i do wonder how certification on previous models works...I'm not sure if you have to actually go to the factory in the UK, if there covered in the current class, or if there is an entirely seperate class inside the US.

What I've learned, is that WDP Angel tech classes teach you all the secrets of all the ANGELS. and WDP manufactured products. So if you take a class now, you'll learn LED,LCD,IR3,SPEED,A4,A4 fly, 05 Speed, and the new G7. Plus both the Angel AIR systems (preset, and adjustable). When WDP comes out with something new, you've got to stay on top of the technology, to be a certified Master Tech, plus the the other requirements.
Check out www.paintball-pti.com its a school for Paintball Airsmithing in Tenn.
and yes they have WDP certified Angel classes, first taught by Fraser (from WDP in England) himself.

I see Ken's pic on there... as a Instructor!
The US courses are merely for familiarization of the latest/current marker(s) from WDP. Unfortunately, Air systems have not been covered for some time. The reason the course was implemented was to allow smaller stores to know and understand the product WDP offers and be able to support the product after the sale. This also gives the WDP user the opportunity to have simple fixes done locally instead of having to send the item off States away.
