You can't get one. The tank is either certified or it's not. No TC stamp... no hydro... no exceptions. The fine for hydroing an non-TC certified tank is a minimum $10,000 per offence.
Technically, non-TC tanks can't even be filled or transported.

That'd be your best bet. But it's true, without a TC number on the tank, you are not legally allowed to fill it, transport it, or hydro-test it. Basically, once it's in the country, it's a paperweight.
Fields don't check the numbers. If they did, no one with an AIR or a PMI 4500/5000 tank could get a fill. A SCUBA shop, however, wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
Just make sure that when you cross the border, customs doesn't see it. If they're picky, you could get nailed with a big fine or have it confiscated. Remember, without the TC code, you can't transport the tank.

They new angel AIR's have "carleton" bottles on them. They are only DOT stamped but if you look at Canadian law, the "carleton" brand bottles are allowed to be sold and transported in Canada; reguarless of stamp or not. It is a bit blury if your alowed to fill or not... So I act a bit blury when I fill them :).
http://www.tc.gc.ca/tdg/tdgpermits/5000-5999/5303-034.doc
So if it happens to have the new style carleton bottle your ok to use it. If it has an old style bottle... you may have some troubles.

johnny who are you?? (which premium guy) i was in the other day.. anywho...
WHERE WILL IT SAY CARLETON?
its a 2k1
assuming i am scrweed with it...-> yes it wil come with the A.I.R. reg (red lense)
NOT with the VERT REG
hm wait, does premium sell JUST the stammped bottles?
Jonny

All Premiums tanks are TC stamped except for the AIR's... BUT, they have the Carleton bottles on them. We fill the angel airs anyways.
If it's a carleton bottle it will say on the tank, "AIR regulator manufactured by WDP"... but then under that it says something like, "high pressure bottle manufactured by Carleton". It's in really small letters but it's there.
I don't know what guy I am, everyone just knows me as JonnyK. :P
You may be able to buy a just a tank from premium but it will cost you man... you would have to talk to "big Jeff" if you wanted one.

Well I have a "CL" between my hydro date and it's a carleton. It could be a Carelton.
Yea the graphics on the AIR's tank usually wear off. Draxxus paint has benzine in it, and it eats the graphics away. Some other paints do it too.

so my tank IS LEGAL IN CANADA (under TC's laws?)
SWEET
thanks guys!!
The symbol in between the month and year of last hydro is the symbol of the manufacturer of the tank (Or, some things say the company that did the original hydro. Anyways, that should be the same company) CL is carleton. They're making just about everyone's tanks anymore. Everyone just buys a cxarleton tank and puts their reg on it. It's not like the tank really makes a difference. :)

yeh i kno, the only dif the tank makes is size and capable pressure.. here in canada, you gotta have a TC stamp or A Carleton tank, but most of the writin was off my tank so i didn't kno if it was CARELTON or not..
BUT now that is is.. SWEEET
thanks again
Yeah, all my tanks have a TC nuumber except for my AIR.

Does anyone know if you can just buy a different tank in Canada and put the regulator on it, and it's legal?

You can put any tank on the reg, the reg isn't what's hydro'd the tank is. That's one of the great things about the AIR, you can replace the tank with a larger or smaller one as you choose. Just make sure that it meets your local standards.

Excellent, i'm sure it will be easier than selling my AIR (just bought used from the states) and getting another one.
thanks
