The only way that flying could damage your tank is if you had it filled, then it would explode, take out the cargo hold, and crash the whole plane. So don't do that. They won't let you take it on w/ it filled, anyway. Just contact the airline and ask what you need to do to travel w/ your gear. If you had to, you could mail the tank to yourself at you destination before you leave.

We tried to take our tans with us to Denver. We emptied them and even took the regulators off, but they wouldnt let us take them. We ended up just FedEx'ing them to our hotel and they held them until we checked in. But thats not about the LCD, I dont see why it would mess anything up. The worst it would do is reset the board back to factory settings, which if theyre different from your current settings, you can just change back after the flight.

Where did you read about temp issues and the LCD board? The only thing related is the CODE3+4 error which you get when your board goes bad. While the CODE3+4 is listed as temp too high and temp too low, thats not what caused the board to go bad. The temp sensor is one of the last things included in the power on the board, so its the first thing to fail when your board fries. The temp does not cause the board to fail.

I live in Canada, and if my LCD can survive playing in the snow here, don't worry about a little flight.
