I've been playing with a Pure Energy 800psi preset 68ci 4500psi tank and I had to crank the velocity adjustment all the way down as low as possible.

This causes my shots to fluxuate in FPS from 265-285. I also feel like I am not getting as many shots from my tank as I expect and I think the high pressure is causing me to break balls. I've broken way more than expected using high end paint[Marbilizer + All Star] and having a fully functional SENSI. I am also using the soft bolt.

So I would like to know what adjustable regulator has the best reviews/results out there for the Speed. Cost is not an issue and I can go with a verticle mini-reg, or one that screws into my drop forward before the tank, or an entire drop forward replacement. A link with the best place to purchase it from would an added bonus.

After I get one I plan to set it at 450psi unless I hear different.

Thanks!

they make a kit for PE to be turned from hp to lp im ganna get one for mine but of regs i think the short cp regs are as long as the regular ones that angels use.

I use that same paint and have great results with my Crossfire 450psi. I just don't prefer the adjustables. I love my Crossfire. It is dependable and consistent. I would at least look into it!

So should I send my tank out to PMI to get it converted to low pressure instead of getting a adjustable regulator?

i'd say definitely get a low pressure tank. i had this same problem with my HP crossfire. The problem with the aftermarket reg is they never look good on Angels. so i got a Conquest and now my Speed is super consistent. it isn't necessary to replace the mini-reg, it's a great reg with a proper input.

I ordered this for my tank:
PMI Pure Energy - Low Pressure Spring Pack.
Low Pressure Spring Pack will Drop the Factory Output Pressure Setting from 850psi to 450psi. Includes: 2 Tuning Shims and a New Piston O-Ring are supplied in the Kit.

Wish me luck...

well, i went the reg route cause the angel speed reg kinda sucks. and it was cheaper then buying a tank, but you should be set now with your new tank, good luck
