View Full Version : cobra on/off
I just got my AIR today! I love it! This is by far the most awesome reg I've ever shot. (That's really not saying too much though, I'm coming from a crossfire 68/3000) Anyways, mine came with the cobra on/off. And I have to say I love that just as much as the reg. That screw makes it so easy to set the output pressure, I couldn't believe it. I just wanted to say that if anyone is considering getting the cobra on/off, I think it's well worth it.

Do you have the older reg with the flush stack or the newer reg with the raised stack?
I'm new to AIR. Whats the stack? But chancees are I have the older one, because the original hydro on the tank was 06-00.

it's got nothing to do with the hydro date on the bottle. Look at the front of your reg, if the center piece is flush with the body it's an older model, if it's raised and has a shoulder it's the newer model
It's the older one then. It's all flush. I was simply saying that the bottle was originally hydrod in 2000, and it's the bottle that came with the reg. So, that means that the reg has to be atleast as old as 2000. So if any of you knew when thestack was changed, I thought that might've helped. Jeremy

I was just asking if you had the raised stack or the older flush one cuz the newer raised stack have had problems with the cobra on/off.

Your right SuperFly,
I just took off my Cobra on/off because it wouldn't let me get past a certain output, I just removed it today and now I can go up to 500+psi

a new one what? the grub screw that the cobra on/off replaced? Check a site sponsor, they might have one, the other option is to take the plate into something similar to a Home Depot, or Lowe's Hardware. They might be able to help you match it up with what you need.
wait does this on off have a lock ??? or is it that you cant adjust it by hand ? If not it dosent seem legal cuz I could turn my output up in a game ..

yes it comes with a lock
so you can lock it at a set output correct ?

they come with a nut on the adjusting screw. once you get your output psi set, you simply screw the nut down. now this won't prevent you from turning the pressure down, but it will stop you from turning it up hence it becomes tourney legal

what generation AIR do you have? This seems to be the problem that users have encountered when trying to use it with the 2nd Generation AIR. That's the reason that it's been recommended to not use the on/off with a 2nd Gen AIR.

Has anyone fitted one of the Cobra on/off's sucessfully to 2nd generation AIR?
Myself and a teamate are after one each but we both have 2nd generation AIR...
Finally, does anywhere apart from Cobra sell these? Emailed Cobra direct about getting a couple shipped to the UK but had no response yet. :(
Thanks in advance - Ben

bluepeter7 - why are you selling? What is wrong with them?
If they definately work on a second generation Angel AIR I am v.interested.
However...
Don't forget I'm in England - if you are happy to post it to me here let me know...

sure i'll send it to you..it works on my 2nd gen AIR..but you have to use a wrench to get it tight enough...so it's stupid to me. tell me if you want it and how much you think it will cost to ship it...i have only 1 by the way
