i had an idea to mod my ir3 so it is like the trigger on the 05 speed(get rid of leaf spring and mount the optical part of it directly to the trigger) i was just wondering if this will work and how hard it would be

Run a search, I've heard of other people doing it and there's probably a thread or two about it. I think it's just a matter of cutting of the leaf, attaching it to the trigger, and fiddling w/ the trigger 'till you get it to activate the sensor. Don't hold me to that, search and you should find something on it.

If you ask me yes you can do it, I wouldnt myself cause then there is like no resistance at all when you pull the trigger, but whatever floats your boat I say. But yes cutting the leaf spring and soldering it or something to the trigger itself should work, might have a tough time getting the trigger into the frame and all that good stuff but meh. Good luck with it though

i was also thinking of adding a magnet like the 05 has and shaving down the trigger, i just dont want to screw up the part of the leaf and screw my gun

hell i just bent the leaf spring right now, lol. took like 5-10 minutes cuz i was trying to be careful. too bad the spring won't come out of the board without tottaly taking the board apart, that kinds sucks cuz i think i broke the part where it mounts it's really loose,

anywho i put needle nose pliers under the spring where it mounts to the board, pushed down on the bottom of the leaf and wiggled the pliers under so it increased the radius of the bend, then i grabbed the horizontal part right on the L and bent that down so it's still parallel to the ground. i had to adjust the trigger so the sensor would reset.

the result: a lightened trigger where i can hit 13-14bps WITHOUT air. man i can't wait till the morning so i can gas it up and see how it does. it's definately lighter

Me and another user here (Target) did about 5 different mago trigger mods with the removed leaf spring. Do a search, it was posted in this forum I think the title was something like "Positive Polarity magno mod" or something close to that.
