Need assistance from MT on 05 speed

Gentlemen,

Today was my first day of use for my 05 speed and some things went well and some did not and I need your expert opinion.

1. Chrono'd awesome! +5 fps

2. First game started out and after ~3 shots it stopped firing, I found my bunker and looked at it and the lights were on but when you pulled the trigger nothing happened. I turned the marker off and restarted it. Again less than 10 shots and stops firing, by this time I am shot out and head to the bench confused.

3. Second game same thing happened and I tried holding the trigger for ~10 sec. to shut the eyes off and nothing happened. Again shot out, back to bench, reread instruction manual.

4. Third game I decided to shut the eyes off right away to see if they could be the problem. I held the trigger right after turning it on and it force fired and turned the eyes off. game procedded and it seemed to work.

5. fourth game tried eyes off again and the problem surfaced again.

6. tried different paint during the course of the day and different hoppers same results. the led's show- top 2 red and bottom green when this happens, pull the trigger and nothing happens. it almost seems like the electronics freeze up and no more inputs are allowed.

reminds me of windows some times...

7. I checked the eye operation with various types of paint and it always worked except when the marker would lock up. Changed the battery to a fresh new one and same results.

8. there were times when the marker would shoot awesome, just ripping the paint down the field, then if I stopped shooting to reload or start a game some times it would not shoot after the delay and could not be force fired to shut the eyes down.

I need some assisstance from a master tech please as I have no idea what to try next. :nervous:

OK, I adjusted the trigger with as much free travel as possible on either side of the activation point and it seemed to work for a while.

Then it would act like there is no ball present, then it would register a ball (I set the bolt in the breech to simulate a ball being there to take the paint out of the equation).

Now the eyes show "ball present" led's but when I pull the trigger it will fire once and then show "no ball present" led's and will not fire but on subsequent trigger pulls the led's above and below the yellow (no ball) led's light up (red above, green below).

But wait there's more!

If you wait ~2 seconds it will show "ball present" and you can repeat the process.

Then all of a sudden it will work like it should for 10 sec to 5 minutes!

Then all of a sudden it will not work correctly.

All of this can happen without turning it off, it seems to be able to change back and forth from "happy" gun to "I need circuit altering drugs" gun.

I am looking forward to your thoughts Ken and appreciate your quick response to my previous post.

Even though I am experiencing some difficulties WDP makes the finest guns and I am not worried in the least that we can resolve these issues. :mt:

I had the same problem as your first post, but it only happend to me about once every 500-600 shots. I think my trigger is also set a little too close. I'll try backing the center screw out a bit and giving a bit more travel. It's really short right now.

Setting the trigger correctly makes a huge difference, you have to have enough swing on either side of the actuation point. :wall:

Yeah I'm thinking that is the problem. I readjusted it today while I was cleaning it. I already had plenty of back travel, but I gave it a little more forward travel. I'll post the results of my adjustments the next time I play.

I experienced this same issue over the weekend when I took out my 05 Speed for the first time.

It seemed like regardless of how I adjusted the trigger, it would just stop responding after shooting anywhere from 10-60 rounds. Restarting the gun fixes it temporarily until it the trigger just stops responding again.

When this happens, the LED lights indicate no response from the trigger whatsover, as if the board locked up. Even when I go into the settings menu, the trigger does not respond until I shut it off and turn it back on.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For you guys havin trouble with that, but want to keep a short trigger pull here's what I did.

Set it so that you can pull the trigger pretty far, there's plenty of movement. But the gun fires just slightly after tapping the trigger, so its EASY to walk. The extra pull insures that it wont randomly stop firing, and ive found I can walk faster as it gives my fingers sort of a trampoline effect. Set the 2nd wheel thing so that it fires right near the beggining of the pull, but make the pull long. That fixed the problem for me at least

So where is this right now? I would love to see what is up. I would think the first dude needed to change his battery and adjust his trigger.

i have the exact same problems as songe with mine...my 05 just wont work worth a crap.i've set the trigger every way you can imagine with no luck..can you imagine a three on one situation you are shooting both sides of your bunker.you see the upcoming shadow of the bunkering middle man you take out left snake wrap around the bunker to take out the incoming bunkerer and blammmmm splattttt aplattttt your gun didnt shoot..now i walk off the field in disbelief looking at my 1000 dollar gun wondering were my guardian angel went..i check the lights to se if i turned it off by mistake but its still on.i pull the trigger to turn the eyes off..i must of stayed pulling for a good minute nothing happened.i turned it off turned on worked great for like 10 shots then froze on me again as if there were no balls present..i took off the barrel thinking that maybe the halo pushed a ball in beetween the detents and the eyes werent reading it but nope..the ball was were it was supposed to be..i readjusted my trigger for more rear/forward travel i olso adjusted the leaf spring so the window would be farther away from the eyes but yet it happened once more two games later...i have no clue what it could be i'm stumped..you turn it off and on and it works fine for a whyle then nothing..i got some nasty welts from getting bunkered and being able to do nothing about it because i basicaly went into the game with out a marker please help............

I guess Sunday was full of fun. I sent the Fly to an MT, the on/off issue was getting worse. The frustration of pointing my Fly at a stunned Joe with no paintballs flying was too much to bare.
