From what I've gathered, you can do the same mini-reg mod to the speed 05 as you could on previous speeds to use HP tanks. Though I don't know how the new speed reg differs from the old one, I think you still just have to remove one of the springs from the stack (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

You dont remove one, you change the way they are arranged. There are threads on it. Do a search.

it all depends on the pressure put out by the stack springs

You can use the HP tanks if u do the mod.
But it will be better if you use LP tanks.

True, but I don't have an LP tank yet and I won't have the $$ for awhile, what with buying a Speed 05 and all. :)
