OK i have a problem. A couple weekends ago I was setting up my gun and got it at about 275 FPS with a little over 250 psi going into the gun(after the minireg). But about halfway throught the day it dropped down to about 175-200. Now I can put 350-400 psi into the gun (also after the minireg) and it will anly shot about 240 FPS. I didn't change any settings from what it was when it was shoting fine. Anybody have any suggestions? I am not really sure what the lpr is but it has not been changed from the factory the dwell is 13 and it has the large volumizer.

Check your LPR pressure. It's possible it dropped during play. This would definitely lead to low velocities.

Er, I seriously doubt that the LPR pressure dropped of its own accord.

It sounds like you've got some gunk that got into the gun somewhere, or an o-rings is leaking. If you aren't having any other problems, it's fine to run the gun at the higher pressure until you can get around to seeing a tech to locate and fix the problem.

I found that my gun came Swabbed in grease out of the box. I cleaned out all the grease and the efficiency, consistancy, and pressure dropped without changing the velocity.

but.....holy crap dude.....400psi out of the reg?!? It turns red at 300!

i would say you sum how got dust in the shims or summat. Take out the LPR and Minireg and swab 'em down of grease.

Hi, I had the same problem, for some reason, after playing with it a few times, it corrected itself.
from my readings, other people mention it needs a "break in" period. also, cleaning the excess grease in the LPR should also significantly help. :notsure:

It has been broken in for quite a while it has about 20K shots. It has about a case or more thru it with the same problem(was playing indoors so it was ok but had to use another gun to play outside) I first though it might be the LPR but since it is adjusted with shims I didn't think that it would change by itself (at least enough to affect the velocity by that much. And I went to 400 because I get mad when things don't work so I end up saying if its broke why not break it more. By the way nothing happened. I will take it apart clean and lube it and see what happens.

just take the gun apart, clean it, grease it, oil it. dry fire... and it should be good!

Er, I seriously doubt that the LPR pressure dropped of its own accord.

I've seen guns drop 100 fps, because of either something getting into the gun (gunk, dirt, etc.) or because of something in one of the regs settled different then it had before. It happened to one of my backmen in a tourney, all of a sudden, one game he shot me in the back like five times. After the game we chronied and his gun was around 210 fps. I just pulled the regs apart, checked them, and cleaned them, he hasn't had any problems since.

I'll agree that gunk could get anywhere and mess anything up, but I'm merely arguing that it's the gunk that did it in both of these cases, as opposed to the regulator somehow suddenly shifting after not having been touched for 20k shots.

Coincidentally, I'll just morph this into a <RANT TYPE="constructive">: guys, lean on your field to change their air filters. Seriously. The filters are expensive, and players rarely notice the quality of the fills, so it's one place where owners skimp. Don't let them. It's a safety issue (petroleum-derived grease sprayed, at high pressure, into a rapidly-heating container... why is everyone running away?), it's a gun-longevity issue, and it's a game issue.

Okay, </RANT>
