The LCD screen on my Force 4 is acting up. There are missing bars (see photo) sometimes they reappear and other lines go faint. I've fully recharged the marker, and that did no good. Before I go out and buy a new $50 LCD screen what should I do to troubleshoot this thing? Also, what might have caused this problem?
In the photo the Silver Speed shows a properly operating LCD board and the Blue Force 4 is my trouble screen.
I've been told that the LCD screen separates from the board itself, and I have no clue on how to do that... I'll probably need to know how to do this if I decide to replace the it.
Anyone got any ideas???

Had the same problem
Push in the battery plug a bit more...that fixed it right up for me.

Your screen is probably going to need to be replaced. Maybe you should call the MT you bought your force from and see if he'll send you a new one.

and if they wont replace it... theyre not more than like $30 for a new one... the probably cause may be the screen partially disconnecting itself from the board... try pulling the lcd off and reinserting it

i dont have my fly with me... if its teh same as my old lcd then there is a tab bar u push to one side teh the lcd slides off... some1 plz confirm
There's a little tab on the bottom of the circuit board the screens attached to. Push that down and pull the screen staight up. The screen plugs in at the 6-pin connector on the back side of the screen.

removing your lcd screen will not void your warranty, you have to break apart the housing the board is in to do that.

Got the board off and I see where the tape/wire thing is not coming in contact in a few places. I'll try and glue it back down with some superglue, not sure if that will work...as the superglue may cause a barrier between the 2 electrical connections. Anyone have any better ideas of how to permanently glue the tape/wire thingy back on???
Also, where do you see the LCD screen for not more than $30? Every place I've seen it, has it listed as $50 + shipping.

Unless you're buying the screen used, $50 is what you can expect to pay (and is, in fact, a pretty good price).

Yeah that's what I figured, but since someone mentioned that they could be had for $30 or less I thought I would ask...
In any event the superglue thing exactly work out, actually I think I am missing more bars... So I'll probably place an order for one. Although I was curious, can I use an LCD screen from any Angel? From the LCD, IR3's, etc??? Or is this screen specific to the A4 board?

The A4 and the IR3 screen are compatible. I don't believe the LCD's screen is compatible, but after I just took the two side-by-side and looked at the pinout and form factor, the two appear very similar. Ask an MT to be sure before plugging an LCD's screen into an A4 board.
