Well, Ive been waiting for this day too long...but ive finally ordered my first angel...an brand new A4. Im not going to get to use it till i actually have the money. Ive been reading these fourms for a while, and know a little bit more about the marker than the average person.
Theres only a couple things i need to ask. First off...with a hopper, i can see that there is an extreme debate about the halo and what not. Now heres my thing, I know the egg inside and out. No hopper is perfect it seems, and each has its own set of problems. Now, if I can handle the egg perfectly fine...wouldnt it just be better to have a z boarded egg instead of getting a halo, and potentially dealing with a supposed sensi problem? I figure ill just avoid the issue all together...and use an egg for now...it'll be free anyway.
Now for the second question....should i replace the mini reg at some point with an aftermarket one such as the cp reg or something? thanks a lot.
As far as im concerned, angels are the best markers out there....im so excited to finally be getting one.

I have an egg with a Z that seems to keep up just fine, and i've only snapped about 40 lids on the thing, (thanks viewloader!) but no, I dont see a reason for a halo... I have no problems with my mini reg but my room mate had one with his speed, I have an A4, not sure if same or not.

No need to replace minireg.
And one thing to think of, the gun is limited by the hopper, so the faster the hopper, the faster the gun.

All Angels have used the same regulator design since the beginning (okay with the exception of the first generation which had an on/off in the minireg). So yes the reg on your 4 is the same as that on the Speed.

The gun will seem smooth whatever hopper you use. The gun adjusts to it. If your using a revvy, you will notice some skips, but still, the faster your hopper feeds, the faster you will be able to fire. I reccomend a Halo with V board

From what I've seen most halos seem to work well on A4's. The trouble I have with halos is when they break down themselves. I know my team in particular has lost at least 4 or 5 games we should have won this summer when a teammates halo went down. And it wasn't just because of dead batteries. Everyone seems to pretend they don't exist, but I use a Ricochet Apache myself. Easily as fast as a z boarded egg and I've been told my more than a few refs that they've seen balls glance right off it. Plus it's lighter than the halo and the egg. If I had to think of something to gripe about it's that it seems tall to me, but when compared to my friends halo it's maybe by only 1/4 inch or so. I highly recommend it.
As for the reg, the stock minireg seems to work fine for me, but in hindsight I would have foregone buying an lp tank and just bought another reg to use with my hp tank. The minireg is okay, but to me a reg on a high end gun that can't handle hp nowadays is just sad. The sidewinder, cp, detonator, heck, even my old genx2 can bring hp down to an angels required input easily, plus the first three have a very fast recharge and are very stable. If you already have a hp tank I'd definitely just replace the reg. Lot's cheaper
Good luck with your new angel man! You will love it. :drink:
I use a egg with a Z-Board. It shoots fine. I would stick with the egg, untill you have the extra cake for a halo, but I wouldnt strap myself for it. I plan on getting a halo sooner or later, but not till I get team Jersey's, retro kit, and a new mask. Halo is on the bottom of the list.

Concerning the tank...i got a worrgas tank for free with the gun...it was an amazing deal, so im considering selling the brand new tank...and then buying an LP tank. If i end up getting a good price on the worr gas tank...that route may be cheaper than buying an aftermarket reg.
