I just got an IR3 off eBay. I got a couple of questions, hopefully you guys can help:
1) My tank is at a fixed 800psi output, do I need a first-stage reg to bring it down to 700 before it gets to the LPR? (The manual says it should operate at 700psi)
2) This thing was chopping balls like crazy. What would be my best settings? (ie. Dwell, COPS sensitivity, anything else applicable) I'm using a Evolution 2 loader
3) I got an after market feed neck, and also the stock one.I would prefer to use the stock one but I noticed it doesn't have the gated feed ring inside. Is that something I should worry about replacing or not?
4) Any overall tweaks or adjustments that you guys may know to help me get this thing smokin would be appreciated.
Thanks

I hope your Ir3 turns out good, here are some things i do and mine work perfectly...
1) dont worry about the output pressure as long as it is a high pressure tank ur fine.
2) set your dwell to around 15
3) get a halo b(i know its alot but setting ur dwell and getting a halo will pretty much stop u from chopping)
4)as far as C.o.p.s goes its a joke and a waste of space every1 i have talked to say theirs is the same way...so i would say dont use it.
5)i would recomened u use a check it lose rise than a gated feed. the orings can slip down in ur gun :(
6) once u do this ur Ir3 should be smoking hot and u should be able to rip like mad :)
7) hope it works out and if u have any questions hit me up on a.i.m

Yea your fine with your tank the mini reg actually steps the pressure down to 500psi. As for your chopping problems you need to set up the cops properly, yes its not the best anti chop but it does work. I use a Z Boarded Egg and ive got my sens at 9 and my BAS at 4, with my stock egg I had the bas at 5 and adjusted the sens accordingly. As for you feed neck and the gated feed you dont need the gated feed its a cool feature but with a force feed hopper you dont need it. I am pretty sure ive got a CPP low rise but the check it low rises are good too cause they clamp or tighten down on the feed tube. If you want your gun to hum all the time I recomend getting an angel tool kit and clean your gun as often as possible and clean your mini reg after every use, I highly recomend it but you dont need to. As for tweaks ive done a simple mod thats dropped my LPR operating pressure to 60 psi ive got a thread on it give a look if your intereseted.

Listen to RonnyMcDYO he knows what he's talkin about. As for your chopping, it may be a little more than just settings. Make sure your breach is cleaned properley if you have broken paint. Make sure you are using decent paint and make sure you have a good barrel to paint match and that your ball detent is in good working order.
I recommend you get an A4 soft face bolt to minimize breaking paint and also if you plan on shooting more than 12 bps you should look at a Z-board for your loader or go for a halo b (some people have had trouble with these though).
Maintenance is the key to having a marker that shoots good so the more you know the better your marker will work for you.
