My mom said I should not do anything Paintball related for the next six months,at ALL. That includes browsing AOG, playing with my gear and going balling. why? because of SATs. she said if she caught me doing anything she would throw away all my gear. she also signed me up for a SAT class that I have to attend every Monday and Wednesday.

right now I am so pissed off.... :pisss:

First of all, how do you think you will do on your S.A.T.? Higher education is an important thing to me. But what the hell am I talking about? I just bought my first Angel a month before going to college, lol!

Anyway, just budget your time. She can't expect you to study 24/7. What the hell are you gonna do? Just do your work, and play when the time is right.

i scored 900 on the PSAT, she want me to get at least a 1200

with the new SAT, 2400 total, she wants at least 2000

hahaha whats with these classes? i took the PSAT with NO studying and got 1350, then i took the SAT (ive only taken it once, and will be taking it again soon) and i got 1230... you dont need to study, i just worked and worked at fungunz, slept , did absolutely nothing to study, dont bother its pointless

If you ask me, taking SAT classes up the ass won't do much for you. Once you know HOW to take the SAT, I believe your score is more dependant on your primordial knowledge. I took a class and the best thing I got out of it was insight on how to take the test correctly.

For instance, during the test I didn't have to read one line of directions, because I had them memorized. That's a big time saver. The math problems aren't hard, but you need to be able to solve them quickly. Reading lots of books will help you GREATLY with analogies and such. I can recall at least three questions that I got right due to seeing the words in two Stephen King books I read prior to the test.

Anyway, good luck, and I hope you get your fair share of PB time.

the sat stuff is just MADE for teachers to make more money teaching extra classes. they dont do crap. and the psat is sorta helpfull but its a pain in the butt as well. the (for california) CAT6 should be enough.

All you need to do is take the PSAT and then take the real SAT and your done I have never heard of one class that can solve your SAT score BOOBOO808 nailed it its a standardized test your only supposed to do as well as your supposed to do. I learned all about standard testing in my Learning and Behavior modification class. Maybe you could write a research paper on people who never took it and turned out Multi-millionaires maybe then your mom will get off your back and let you decide your life.

Maybe everytime you are tempted to do paintball related stuff, just start looking up and trying to understand Quantum Physics (It's actually not as difficult as alot of people would have you think because it's almost all theory). Once you are able to talk about it confidently, keep bringning it up whenever you're in a place where you have your mother's complete attention (Meals, car, freetime around the house, ect.). This way she will either think you're so smart you won't have to study anymore and she'll lift the ban, or you'll drive her so far up the wall that she'll do just about anything to make you shut up. If she asks why you are looking into quantum physics, just say it was kind of a joke at first to pass the time because you couldn't do anything related to paintball, but then found it really interesting. Then at this point you should probably link the topic to The Observer and how they create their own realty through thought. If this doesn't work, just keep moing on to stranger and stranger hobbies and past-times (swordsmithing, alchemy, whitchcraft, self body-piercing, druidry, auto-erotic asphyxiation, etc.). Just keep in mind that your goal is to make your mother snap and think that paintball is really the lesser of all possible evils that might distract you from your studies.

A good person to look up as a starting point in Quantum Physics is Fred(erick) Allen Wolf. Also, just do a few google searches on the topic and maybe check out a book from the local library to let her know you're really into it.

On a side note, I don't believe that SAT scores are really that important just so long as you make around an 1100. I made a 1220 on the PSAT, a 1190 on the SAT and had a mediocre GPA through high school (around 2.15 or so I think) and I was still able to get into a respectable college with little to no hassle. It's more important that you end up finding a good balance between fun and education and not have too much emphasys on one or the other. If you do too much recreation, you'll just end up with a crappy job and no where to go. If you focus too much on education you might as well just go to Japan. Do the all-american thing of this generation and learn how to screw off but still get things done. Who knows... if you take the right courses in college and keep up with paintball all the while, there might be a good job waiting for you in the industry when you graduate.

im pretty sure she knows im on AOG all day. but she just wont let me go paintballing! which sucks because I finally got a new Harness. but i guess its all good since im trying to save up for Pods,a halo, crossfire and unimount.
