View Full Version : Still having trigger problems

OK. I recharge the gun overnight and cleaned the eyes well as recommended by Emmit.
I'm having problems with pausing still. Remember, my trigger was adjusted by an MT from Impact Paintball in NJ.
Here's what happens:
1. Turn on gun with Halo B V35 then fire, no problem. It rips.
2. Play one game stop for 2-3 minutes then fire gun, DOES NOT FIRE. I have to pull trigger 4-5 times before gun fires. After that, seems to have no problems until I don't shoot the gun again for a few minutes.
I have used many paintballs of different colors, 2 different Halo B V35s to no avail.
What's wrong here. I'm getting frustrated. My old A4 is more reliable than this gun (never had any problems and lesser kick) which I'm more inclined to using right now and make this FLY as backup. Should I return this gun and have board/eyes replaced? Who do you recommend I should send it too? Russ, Ken ?
Thanks.

mind telling what software you have, LP 3.0 by chance?
Well since you have tried two diff. Halos it's probably safe to assume that it's not a hopper issue. See if you can indentify what is causing the gun not to fire. The questions I would ask is first have you checked to make sure paint is feeding and isn't getting caught up in the feed neck (how :dunno:) or is for some unique reason the ram getting stuck too far forward or just not returning occasionally.
Secondly even though you just had the trigger set if it was set really fine sometimes the setup can change because of temperature and humidity. The plastic case that holds the opto-spring can expand ever so slightly and change the setup. Also are the screws that hold the board in snug? Setting triggers really fine can sometimes cause this problem.
Thirdly from what you described, it sounds like an eyes issue except for the fact that it does it spordically. When you cleaned the eyes were you careful not to damage the solder joists at the lenses (you didn't pry them out did you?). Also, check to make sure the eyes are inserted straight, check to make sure the eyes are round and don't have scratches and check to make sure they are plugged in straight.

i have v 3.4. The MT flashed the board with the latest software at that time.

I do agree could be the eyes but if it wasn't correctly inserted back or damaged, would it not work all the time (not just after a few minutes)? When the gun starts firing, it just rips and never experienced chopping.

When the gun has been firing and ripping and pauses after a few minutes, the halo has not been removed and has not been empty so I'm pretty sure it's not the oring being displaced. But will check.

I agree, that's why I mentioned that except for that fact that it is occuring sporadically.

Take a little black electrical tape, and tape over the toe screw hole to make sure no light is getting in there from the outside.
Personally, though, I think it's just a sticky trigger that manifests itself between games; I'd back out the front trigger wheel one notch.

Thanks Jouster. The left most vernier wheel is turned all the way clockwise minus 1 click. There's also a lot of play between the leaf and the toe screw. When you pull the trigger out, it doesn't touch the leaf at all.
What do you mean by toe screw hole? which part in the drawing below?

Hmm. If the electrical tape doesn't work, you might have to bend the leaf spring out a bit (be careful, you can mess up the board if you're not careful with that spring!).

Take a look at this:

The green thing is the hex key adjusting your toe screw. The key passes through a hole in the gripframe of the marker; that's what you want to put a bit of electrical tape over, to block outside light from getting in.

Are you sure that the toe screw hasn't moved out? Or did you make an adjustment? If you sent the gun in for trigger adjustment I doubt that there would be that kind a space/play between the toe screw and leaf spring. This goes back to my second thought. I would suggest that you send it back to have it checked if you don't know how to. At the least they will be able to find out what actually is the problem if it's not the trigger.
By the way, the eyes wire harness isn't pinched between the space frame and the bottom of the upper part of the gun?
