View Full Version : Sensi sucks!

After much fine tuning on my A4, i.e. making sure LPR pressure is adjusted correctly, RAM adjusted correctly, good paint, good paint to barrel match, appropriate input pressure to the mini-reg, fiddling with differnt dwell times, using fast hoppers that can keep up (Halo B and Evo II w/Z board) etc., it has become clear to me that Sensi stinks, and this must be the obvious reason Angel finally decided to put eyes on the A4 Fly.
All I can say to all you folks with A4's that have chopping problems and still have Sensi is to get your guns retrofitted with the eyes. That's what I am doing and expect my gun to work much better as a result. Heck, look at the other top gun manufacturers, i.e. Bob Long, Matrix, Smart Parts, they all have eyes. With these super fast markers today, it is apparent Sensi is obsolete and is not quick enough to respond to do the job. If you plan to only shot 10 - 15 bps or so, then Sensi may be o.k., but then what is the purpose of buying an A4 or Speed if that's how fast you plan to shoot.
So what I am saying is if your gun is chopping or breaking paint in the breech, stop wasting your time trying to tweak the A4 and just get the conversion. And in case you are wondering, I am not affiliated with any of the Master Techs.

I was thinking the exact smae thing as you until yesterday when I replaced my sensi pad. Once I changed that pad, I had a completely different gun. I was shooting 18bps with a stock revolution with sensi mode 1 on and never had a single problem. Before I changed the sensi pad, I had alkinds of problems. From "pausing" problems to just plain old chopping, my gun was a piece of junk. I have got to tell you though that now that I have a new sensi pad, it is working like a champ. I was ready to dump another $300 for the fly upgrade, but I think I will wait a while and see how well sensi works. I completely feel your pain though.

That is crap.
Sensi has advantages over eye systems. We dont all have chopping problems. Ive fired 30,000 shots thru my baby and have never chopped with sensi on.
Dude, apologize. Sensi can detect how many balls are stacked up in the tube, and optimize the cycle time to fire the maximum bps without chopping. All an eye does is sense if its there or not.
Sensi has its downspots here and there, like how hard it is to maintain, but, i mean, cmon. Sensi doesnt suck, and i get to 20+ bps with sensi on and paint.
dude, pls edit that last post. ur making me angry.

The Idea of Sensi/LDS is a very good idea. But, i plain just does not work very good. I know some A4 that have never chopped with Sensi, but I will take Eyes over Sensi ANY DAY!!

Ill take a eye over a sensi if i had the option, but sensi works!!!
I dont chop,, i fire 20+ bps, i have nothing to complain about. An eye isnt worth paying 300 bucks for when you already have a good ball detection system.

Yeah, yeah, o.k. Perhaps Sensi doesn't suck for some people but it does for others, which is my whole point...the lack of reliability. At least Angel gets credit for finally putting eyes on their guns...I just wish they would have come out with it sooner.

for crying out loud dude, the name is ANGEL 4!!! Not IR4!!
sry...ur name's sig is drivin me nuts....
I couldnt agree more with the original post-- I also have poured countless hours on my A4 tweaking everything and still getting chops; I also talked to one of the master techs for advice. I have changed the sensi pad and even bought another for a spare.
I have upgraded my egg to a Z-board.
I just bought a jam bolt today. I will see if that makes a difference. For How much time and effort I have put in my A4 the fly would of been a far cheaper and less agonizing route.
Yes, I do have friends that have had no issues with their sensi---but for the people that do-- You are basically stuck with a totally useless very expensive marker.

Shot fast enough & you will have problems with the Sensi. Mine sucked from day 1. Got the Eye Q & no more skips or pauses all the way up to XX BPS. Worth EVERY penny.

Hmm, very interesting. I just took my A4 out for it's first day of play, and I seemed to keep chopping paint all day long. Couldn't figure it out, I tried switching a few settings, thought maybe my hammer was just too far back, but it looks like I'll just get a retro.
I dont know why I havent broke down and got the retro.
I just cant understand why its either it works or it doesnt on some markers.
I kind of feel like Im being held hostage to get the retro.
The freekn marker was designed so you wouldnt have to.

amen to dat
I had a teammate that was having a choping problem with his Force 4. He never did figure it out,and ended up crossing over to the dark side. :(
I however absolutly adore my a4, I have never chopped a ball with sensi on, and working (once the sensi broke, and I chopped evertime I shot a string)
I have heard some people say that by putting black tape over somethng on there board it has fixed the problem. They said that something to do with the light made the board mess up... Ill look for a link, and edit my post.

It's a conspiracy to sell us the angel eyes. :)
Seriously, just after a single day I'm ready to get the retro.

I was ready to throw down another $300 for the fly conversion a week after I bought my new A4, but I made myself buy one new sensi pad for $15 and try it first. I just wanted to give it one last chance. I put in the new sensi pad and it has been flawless. I highly recommend you try that before you get the conversion.

My Sensi worked for about..... 1 hopper. Then is decided to take a fart...
Now I am stuck will a VERY expensive paper-weight that is of no use. I have had it ALL summer, only played 1 game with it.
I wish i would have stuck with my old LCD.

That's not a bad idea, I'll try another sensi pad if all else fails.

I think it really was a design problem to begin with. they designed the sensi to work for some people and not with others.
I'm just waiting for all of the "my eyes are on but i still chop paint threads" or the "i can only get 11bps from my fly" threads. There will always be problems because there will always be morons.
