i have a speed and am thinking about converting to a fly and i have a couple of questions.

1 what are the differences between the two other than eyes, and the lcd screen(firing modes, debounce, etc.)

2 is the board the same as the speed, with the opto sensor, and the leaf spring, and if not what kind of gun does the trigger feel like(dm4, timmy, imp)

thanks

1. The trigger is different, the milling(duh), I'm sure some of the internals are different, but I'm not sure.

2. It's an opto sensor and leaf spring.

flys ahve a new ram, and no diverter plate which allows u to run the gun at a mcuh lower pressure, and the vernier wheels

i know that the milling on the triggers is different, i am talking about the pull, because the pull on my speed was reall hard and made it tough to walk it.

u gotta bend the opto leaf homie, you can amke the pull, as light n as thin as allie mcbail or how ever u spell that chicks name

Gah. Okay, let's do this right.

As far as differences between a Fly and a Fly'd Speed, the Speed will have a different ram, a different solenoid assembly, different milling, a different feedneck, no volumizers, a different bolt, different ball detents, a different trigger, and a slightly smaller main pressure chamber.

Performance-wise, a Fly'd Speed with an A4 bolt ($25) and a volumizer ($25--MT (http://www.performanceangel.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=51&cat=60&page=1)) slapped on it will not differ at all from a brand new Fly. I dare anyone to say otherwise*.

The conversion from Speed to Fly'd Speed gives you three things:
1) A new board, with an LCD screen (or LED like your stock Speed board if you want to save $50), giving you access to TR ("debounce"), alarms, ROF, temperature, etc., etc.
2) Eyes.
3) Straight-through drilling of a new LPR air passage that bypasses the old diverter plate assembly, allowing you to run at dramatically lower LPR pressures and dwell settings.

The new board will have the same Opto-switch and leaf spring; if you want a lighter or stiffer (is that a word?) pull, just ask the MT when you send in your gun to be retrofitted.

*: Pre-acknowledged difference: main pressure would have to be a bit higher on a Speed than on a Fly with the same size volumizer, but if that bothers you, just slap on a larger volumizer.

nah i dont bend the leaf spring, i got a way to make it even lighter :boink:

rubber band?

nah, no rubber band. you gotta take the leaf spring outta the board, then glue it to your trigger. take out the screw in the back of the trigger that you use to shorten your pull, and put a spring in there. you can make it as light as a blade on am impulse, with no bounce at all.

Can you mock that up so I can see what you mean? I have a mockup of a standard Opto switch configuation here (http://www.angelfaq.com/image001.gif) for you to build off of, if you need it.

i will get some pics up tommorrow night so you can see what i mean, it will just be easier, and you will be able to get a better picture of what is going on. cool.
