I switched from the AIR to a crossfire only because of ease. The AIR is a little tempermental, and at National events their fill stations are not very nice to the AIR. This was the only reason for my switch.
The weight difference isn't that big because for the preset you still need an asa of some kind. I just compared my team mates speed with air and my speed with cp on/off asa and rail. Both with 68/45 tanks. I didn't notice any difference, maybe there is a difference but I would need a scale to tell...
The thing is, as Emmit allready stated, ease of use.

The crossfire (preset) also has are greater flow and recharge rate than the AIR. That said, you would be in a small minority if you started to shoot faster than the AIR could deliver!

i've shot almost every tank out there and the best preset system i ever used and still use is the worr gas tank. i'm also selling 2 that my team won in tourns, everyone else on the team is using their worr gas tanks or using a smart parts max-flow
air tanks weigh so much because of all those features that no one ever uses :\ i remember i was talking to ed poorman early this year and he was agreeing with me on the same thing. he's actually the one who talked me into getting the worr tank. he said the adjustable worr tank is the best but if the money is too much, the preset is also the best preset out there.
if you're interested in them, i have them posted here:
