Don't get a barrel kit for an open bolt gun. Just buy a .692 Ultralite or a .688 Poison Arrow barrel as then you can clean the paint you break by simply moving a piece on the barrel, because you WILL break paint with a .688 barrel on an open bolt gun, and the accuracy you gain from the better match (for some of the balls anyways) will all of a sudden disappear.

Regardless of the veracity of people's deeply-seated views about how it affects other areas, there is no question that open bolt versus closed bolt has no effect on whether or not you break paint in the barrel.

search the loaders/air systems/barrels section here, theres PLENTY of info opinions and reviews there, how much are you looking to spend?

Enter my eBladed 2002 Cocker. Had next to no upgrades on except for an Ergo reg (and eblade of course). Every ball I shot through it, hell, it was even with a Ricochet 2K with Big Ball, shot fine through my System X 2-piece .689 barrel. Didn't break. This is the same paint I used 2 weeks prior with a fully upped Classic Timmy... It broke nearly every ball in the Dye .688 Boomstick I was using it with.
.001 makes the difference between breaking madly or not? I don't think so, it seems the gun might be at fault (same paint in the TImmy, better barrel on the Timmy, lower pressure on the timmy....)

I'm only going by my experiences.

at least I didn't have to point it out this time.

Thread has been moved, and it has also been closed due to the large number of threads discussing various barrel kits etc already existing.
