All -
I'm experiencing some serious chopping issues. I'm thinking it's my new HALO however maybe you have other thoughts.

First off, I just got my marker (force fly) back from Russ and his magnetic mod. He was able to get 21 bps. I thew on the new HALO (with victory board) and here is what happens...

ROF is way slow...around 13 bps. I know I don't have slow fingers as I can get my Viking up at 20+ bps. I put the MROF at 16 and turned the eyes off to test it out. The Force would skip a ton and chop like mad. Remember this is only with 16MROF. I'm assuming the HALO I have is junk. What do you guys think? Thanks.

..1st off, check which mode is showing when you power it up. When I received mine from Russ it was in 'AFMO5'.... Put it in 'Mode 1', which is semi, eyes on, uncapped bps. You'll probably have to scroll thru all the AF modes (1-5) before you see the standard WDP modes.

In this mode you can't chop if no ball is present, as it won't fire if a ball is not detected. Also, make sure what your MROF setting is (25 max, but uncapped w/eyes on), reset to 25 if not already. If it is still firing 'slow', check the batteries in your Halo, as they weaken, the motor slows down.

With no paint in it, Mode 1, eyes off (hold trigger in for a sec or two until it fires), can you get it above 16 bps?

If you don't know what the AFMOD1 thru 5 do, ask Russ to send you the listing of what they are and how they work (Force owners only!)...

24bps is the norm whenever I 'get on it' when playing in a game.

I've been seeing a lot of "bad" Halo's...time to see if polishing the shaft and greasing the bearing with a little cleaner will help speed it up...

or when I had some major chopping issues Vantage took my force apart and put some grease under the sensi pad (he can explain better) and I know that was the problem and it never chopped again. also check the detents and make sure one of them isn't in backwards... and finally are you out shooting that hopper with the sensi off? I run mine without sensi but my MROF is set at 24BPS...

except that the Fly's don't have Sensi or a COPS sensor:wall:

Thanks for the posts...here's a little more background

Yes I'm on Mode 1. I upped the TR to 13 (up from TR6 that Russ was using). There was no point in me putting the MROF to 25 because when I tested it out at 16 (with eyes off, Mode1), the Fly was skipping shots and chopping. This led me to believe My HALO w/ victory board is junk (new batts too). I need to get hold of someone else's HALO to try out.

are you sure the halo is in mode 6, it resets when you change the batteries. i couldnt figure out why my gun was shooting so slow, and ti turned out my v35 baord was set to the lowest speed setting.

it's a victory board setting, can't do it on regular halo's.

but 4's no fun :( thanks for that info though.

i got my v35 halo used so i guess ill just buy a spare motor and keep it rocking till it dies, then ill run it at 4.
