My team and I were wondering if we should buy a Sup' Airball field to practice maneuvers and such on so that we don't have to travel like 45 minutes to the nearest field...so do you guys think that we should..or shouldn't? And why or why not...and if you do think we should where would be the cheapest place to get it?
Def worth getting one for your team to practice and you can also rent it out for tourneys at fields that need another one or dont have one. You can make your money back on it doing that alone. Look for a used one is my suggestion. Or Kapp used to sell bunker individually if you dont have the funds to buy one out right. So you can peice it together as funds become available.

how many rounds you expecting to play you will need more air then just whats in your paintball tank, atleast if i was having a practice i would want to play more than a few rounds but sup air is worth it definitely wont hurt to have something to practice with If youve got the funds go for it. Maybe start off with palettes instead see if you guys can practice on a consistent basis.(not judging that you guys dont practice if you are considering sup air field)Start small, work your way up to sup air that would be my suggestion

Having ur own field wont be worth it unless u have a compressor, or other form of filling ur tanks. To spend $3,000. to $3,500. for a field, for just a few games doesnt seem worth it. But if ur interested let me know i get fields from the frenchies all the time, picking a couple up from them in 3 weeks.

make sure you know what you're getting into, its pretty hard work having to unfold, blow up stake the bunkers, then hose them down, wipe them off, deflate, fold them up, and pack them up. Thats probably 2-3 hours total that you could be playing
if you arent gonna use it alot, then no, its not worth the $2000+ plus maintainence. Field entrance is like $20 +/- so that means you have to play 100 times to break even. Realistically you wont play that often. AIR wont be that much cheaper, but i suppose you could order bulk paint and that would definatley save you $$
IDK how your team is set-up, but i don't think a sup air field is worth the hassle if your team is comprised of 12-15 year olds
What kind of maneuvers are you going to be doin?

if you're just looking to run drills then purchasing your own field is not the way to go, nor is it cost effective
if you're quite a distance from a field (I do not consider 45 minutes a long distance) and you actually have other teams in the area that would scrimmage with you, then it might be worth considering.
However as a couple of people have mentioned there's a lot of maintenance involved...I know because I have to break down 2 airball fields every fricken tournament we work for one of our sponsors. You have to clean and dry all the bunkers before you can put them away, and then they don't ever fold up small enough so you always end up trying to stuff that last bunker somewhere:yikes:
You really have to outweigh the costs and the benefits. I believe the Diable site used to list a Sup'air field for sale check them out.

I was just curious do you have permits to use a certain area or are you at someones house with a huge backyard?

our team had one for awhile, its definitely not worht the trouble unless you have the funds for the air setup and have a good number of teams who want to practice with you. To buy a field jsut to run drills is not a good idea at all.

it's in my friends backyard( like 20 acres) and i have about 11 people on my team so the cost for each person won't be that much, and we do have a lot of teams to scrimmage against, no real challenges they're a bunch of newbs saying that there 98 custom is better than an angel or trix or something, so we do haave teams but they all suck, we are the only organized team im my town.

research , research , research, you have to remember even though cost isnt an issue splitting it w/ 11 guys, but you have to think about things such as air fills, liability of the players on your friends land, i know you all say your friends, but its a lawsuit waiting to happen, setting up and tearing the field down every weekend, unless you want the chance of it getting stolen. Theres a lot more to it than just affording it.
The worst part is all the work involved.

to me you sound like your parents wont drive you to the field 45 min away to play. i know how that is, my mom/friends mom has to drive 1 hour+ depending on traffic. fields are lots of money, and you can spend that money on a car/gas or if your not old enough gas money for your parents/friends/friends parents to drive you.

I would say just go out and buy some plywood and make your own bunkers. Over here the field we play on and built on Kadena Air Base, the bunkers are only 2 to 2 1/2 times your body width and the field is EXTREMELY SMALL, Im talking you can probly spit accross the field and hit your opponent, lmao!! Therefore, it MAKES YOU LEARN TO STAY TUCKED IN and what not. Not to mention you had better be haul'n ass and knowing HOW to get into the bunker and getting set up in it. Im telling ya, when it comes time for a tourny and you walk onto a field that is actual playing size with bigger bunkers, you will have the upper hand and be lightning fast. YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!! So I just say get some wood and make your own. In the long run you'll have longer pratice times, more air and more importantly, less uneeded wasted money!! Just my 2 cents. Be safe and play safe ya'll!!
