Hey guys
Im planning on buying a computer, but I want it custom built, so I can have all the latest stuff. Anyone know any cheap priced places where I can get a custom built computer, I know theres tons and tons of sites out there, but any of them that you guys reccommend. I kind of wanted mines to look like an alienware desktop with a big 19inch nec display like the one below.

I got mine off of www.cyberpowerinc.com
Pretty decent prices, I didn't pay much more for what I got than I would have if I had built it myself. They have a decent selection of cases, mine looks like a freakin rice rocket.

I have price watch as my favorites on my computer, Ive checked them out and there pretty good. warpedx that site you gave me is pretty cool, thats awsome how all the computers match with parts, not many sites have that. Im not really sure as for the parts, I mean Im not a computer genius, but I know some little knowledge of whats inside. Basically I want to build a machine that is for playing videos, and that can have tons of memory, and good graphics when I play games. I also want speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a buddy w/ a 2k1 or 2k2 alienware he's selling for about $250 w/ all the hardware, peripherals, etc. He said it's got some bogged down software issues (spyware, imo) that has it running slower than it was. Not sure which processor it has, but I can find out. Surround sound speakers, too.

drkanglr what did your friend say about the computer..

Jorge
08-07-2004, 04:16 PM
Ok, Im going to use my tv for a while as my moniter, I'll just use the video cards outputs with some av cables, and do that for a while until I get the money for the moniter. Any one else dont this before. So I guess Im going to spend about 500-600 bucks in the computer.

PakmanRevd
08-07-2004, 04:29 PM
500-600. You'll be doowngrading a bit from what i sent you.

talk to me again I'll do a new setup for you

Jorge
08-07-2004, 04:38 PM
Well it depends on how much I spend on my angel setup that I will be getting soon, if I have to, I will have to dig into my computer money for my gun. Or I'll just wait a while and get more money for my comp, but I'll talk to you again later today Pak. Bye for now.

unless its for onl a day or so i'd say that's not a very good idea, tv's make terrible monitors because they dont have a very high resolution and there's allot of space between the pixels, dont remember what the exact term for that is,

so all of that will lead to very badly displayed and barely readable text, so unless you're only going to be watching movies and maybe okaying games on it i'd say stick to whatever you're using right now untill you can get a monitor to go with the computer

Jorge
08-08-2004, 10:07 PM
Yeah, thats true. Ive heard the same thing from many people and have seen it for my self when my 8th grade teacher did it to display our grades to everybody lol. But where would be the best place to get an lcd for like 200 bucks but 19inches, if its a little more than thats alright. I want to build a machine that is fast, good graphics, lots of memory, dvd-cd= burner.

MoogLe

if money is an object i would really recommend ditching the flat panel and just going CRT,

crt's are usually better for gaming and also much cheaper

Jorge, my buddy said he's hook you up. Alienware comp w/ 19" monitor (not flat, sorry), new cd burner, separate dvd drive, extra memory added, and 5 or 6 speaker surround sound w/ sub also. $300 + shipping from NC.
email me and I'll get you his email addy. Also, if you can send your zip code we can find out how much shipping will be.

I'd go with that Jorge. that way if you REALLY want a flat panel you'll have money left over.

Do you know what kind of video card it has?

Jorge

My zip is 33012. Can You get me more full specs on the computer, like memory, video card, sound card, etc...
